June 07, 2007, 01:48:11 PM
 >:( Hi Guys,

Been quiet for a little while been very sick and in hospital again due to stomach and throat problems. I got an orginal P2K 0-6-0 and the draw bar will not stay coupled. It has the plug in type with the connectors made into the drawbar anyone has any idea what to do the clips no longer clip onto the retainers.

Thanks

With my eyes and hands any more the last kits I tried to build almost turned into a disaster and even trying to add the grabirons and small pieces to Atlas Pulpwood cars  is a pain for me any more.

Good example RTR except the bloody grabs on the ends and coupla major pain in the Caboose.

Thanks Gene,

I couldn't tell in any of the photos of the 2-10-2. I just know that one onthe 0-6-0 is a royal pain in tha caboose.

Thanks guys,

It was worth asking and thanks Ray for the answer. Maybe the local schoolhouse could use some boilers when the IC dieselizes its not like I dont have 6 Green diamond GP18s in storage and 4 SW9s. I am sure theGM&O would like its 0-6-0 back since the darned drawbar won't stay connected it is a first run P2K model nice runner with very short trains because of that crappy drawbar. I am beginning to rethank on ordering a P2K IC 2-10-2 with sound because of the drawbar problem.

General Discussion / Re: 2-8-0
May 28, 2007, 04:43:51 PM
I got a first run 2-8-0 with a nice headlight and runs very smooth. The new one with DCC I am not impressed with very dim headlight and overly stiff wires between tender and loco once I convert it to a ICRR 2-8-0 the Decoder is going in the trash so maybe it will start at less than 4 volts.

HO / Re: Metal Wheel Tire vs Traction Tire
May 24, 2007, 07:55:02 PM
;D How about CSA land rams? I can load the 24 pound naval gun with canister  :o

I like the choice as some models need traction tires others don't I guess Lionel really did it right with Maga traction  my first O scale engine was diecast 4-4-2 and it could pull stumps.

But in G I had to remove the traction tires off my USA GP30s they were crap and loved to hang up in turnouts but they dont need them anyway.

In HO some of my steamers they are a must have.

HO / Question for all you kitbashers and IC fans
May 24, 2007, 04:14:43 PM
Hi Guys,

I just got my 2nd 2-8-0 from Bachamnn and when I sat it in front of my two lemon Hallmark 2-8-0s the loco dementions matched perfect now here is the question. Would a new Bachmann chassis and motor fit on a Hallmark Boiler?

here's a shot with them side by side. The RI will soon be senttoTexas for conversion into a IC 2-8-0 or a close copy of one.

Hi Guys,

I was wondering what do you do when the original box is to shortor small for the finished model? Good example Athearn BB 50' boxcars once you add Kadees the boxx is to short for the car with out the couplers being putin a strain. Or an Atlas U33C once the hand rails have been added they won't fit back into the Styrofoam inserts?

I am one that don't believe in throwing away boxes. I have almost all my Original HO boxes and 90% of the boxes my G scale came in including original shipping boxes. Heck I even keep my model ship boxes and we all know once we build that Prized model of the Mighty MO or the Bismarck they won't never fit back in the Box.
Thanks
Stephen

;D Hi Lanny I got that photo and several others stored away of IC 2-8-0s with short Vandy tenders.

Pretty quiet here today built some old MDC IC hoppers and got 4 Atlas U33Cs to add Kadees to and add the handrails ect. on. Can't leave the house having major stomach problems today.
