Do you have any evidence of that?

I mean The Bach-man said he didn't recall that it ever was.

The youngsters, who have never stood next to one ready to depart, smelling of coal smoke, valve oil, and steam, listening to the creaks and groans, and feeling the ground begin to rumble as the rods begin to move, are the ones who really experience beauty.   ;D

Gene, I am 7-8 months older than Kobi/UP5511/HOplasser or whatever he is called, and I have seen what you describe. Standing next to 4449 as it starts is quite something. Even better when two steamers are double heading. I've even gotten the pleasure of blowing 4449's whistle.

I am from Kirkwood, over nehind hobby station. anyone from around there?

do you know that guy who lives on Main street?
he drives that red car.
my cousin lives down the road, near McDonalds across from the gas station.

I have always wanted to see those trains that run on that track near that blue building..do you know how to get there?

Scot
I live on the street with the five foot deep "Swails" on it, by the mall, and the freeway.

Seriously now, Seattle Washington.

Great to have you back kobi after you got banned twice from trains.com. If you act nice and don't lie, you may come here once again.

I was wondering the same thing with my 2-8-0. I don't mind if it's silly, I'm 12. I'm not a super rivet counter or anything.

Was the overland 4-8-4 ever sold apart from the set, or was it always with the set the overland?

Thanks,
Mark

I know its a coal burner because theres COAL in a COAL BUNKER on the tender.

And yes, I checked the misc. sounds reference on the CD. Nothing there either.

I was wondering how Fireman Fred is turned on. My 2-8-0 with sound will sit there, and sit there, with no Fireman Fred. I let it sit for 15 minutes, no coal, no oiling, no nothing 'cept the airpumps and dynamo.
I looked through the manual for it and it doesn't specify a CV to turn it on or off.

Am I missing something or did I get jipped out of coal shoveling?

General Discussion / Re: Why Bachmann? (poll?)
May 28, 2007, 12:24:33 PM
I buy bachmann because:

1) Great detail
2) Great Value
3) They run well
4) Micromark always sells it for a lot less than other manufactorers
5) They are sturdy. Now I have a little brother, and he's a pain. A few weeks back, he threw a block at my heavy mountain. I was on the other side of the room and couldn't block it, so it hit. Guess what broke? The tender to engine wires, and these had already been fixed before due to him throwing a switch that lead to the abiss...

Atlas Custom #4s will cause it to derail to Lower Slobovia.  A 22" radius will make it look like elephants in tutus.
Think 2-8-0.
Gene

I thought 2-8-0 march. I now own a 2-8-0 with sound. Very nice, good job bachmann. And yes, I know if it did run around my curves and switches it would look bad. Lets hope I can get my expansion I want and have some 30" curves  ;D

Hoople - what size turnouts and radii do you have?  Can you actually run one?
Gene

Well about that... Probably not, unless it has some blind drivers. I have Atlas Custom #4s and 22"s... and yes, I know that is too short.
Hey, I could set up a long straightaway on the floor. Then there is the club...
I still would go nuts to have one.

This is a good idea. Sure, I want the 4-12-2... but bachmann probably won't ever make one. I've heard rumors of BLI making one tho. w00t!

Enough with the 4-12-2 Hoople. That topic was long over almost a year ago. Your starting to obsess on it a little too much.

A year ago? Wasn't it more of 6 months ago? Ah who cares. I still want a couple... Yeah I am obsessing... but they are cool...
