I've been looking for these decal sheets and they seem to be out of stock at Walthers.

On30 / On30 decals

I was wondered if folks lettered engines and rolling stock for their railroads, what do you use for decals?

That's the look I want for my layout. I intend to use Code 83 ME track and switches in the front and Atlas Code 83 elsewhere.

Harold, your website always leaves me with food for thought. It seems to get better every time I visit.

Heck, I would just be content if they made ore loads for their v-dump ore cars!

On30 / Appropriate Soundtraxx decoder for the 2-8-0
August 28, 2010, 08:42:10 PM
I bought a 2-8-0 from Micro-Mark recently and I want to add sound to it. Personally I don't quite understand Bachmann's marketing strategy when it comes to sound, but it's their company after all.

So, which Soundtraxx decoder is appropriate for  the 2-8-0? Also, I'm only going to install one speaker.

It's too bad Soundtraxx doesn't offer an aftermarket kit for these engines (decoder, speaker, cables, etc.)

Anyway, any new Bachmann On30 engines had better have factory sound installed, or I won't be buying them.

On30 / Re: Need Advice - Planning First On30 Layout

I bought some Peco flex track, but didn't like it. I'm using Atlas Code 83 HO track and turnouts. The ties and tie spacing are wrong for On30, but I'm using it anyway. The latest issue of Narrow Gauge & Shortline Gazette has a On30 layout that is using the Code 83 Atlas track.

My favorite Bachmann engines have factory installed sound. The Climax and IF Forney. I can't tell you how happy I am to see the Porters come back with sound!

Smaller engines look better on my layout and now I wish at some point that the 4-4-0 engines will have sound as an option (that I would gladly pay for).

A Heisler would be sweet, but only if it comes with dcc and sound.

BTW, the basic Bachmann dcc control system is a great way for a beginner to learn dcc.

Bachmann, you rock!

Well I for one am very happy to see the Porters with sound. I've modeling in 3-rail O for a few years now and sound enhances my model railroading fun.

I don't know about the rest of you, but FUN is what I expect from the hobby.

Keep up the good work Bachmann. Now let's see what you can do in the other O scale stuff :)

I agree! I love my sharks, FA-1's, BL-2, FM Trainmaster, and UP Heritage engine. Marty, I may be calling in another order in a month.

I heard on the OGR forum that the Peter Witt Trolleys were on the water.

A Porter with sound? I'll buy 4 undecorated ones!

Wait, I must have dreamed that. I doubt seriously that Bachmann would put sound in the Porters. :'(
