Note that nobody has bid on it yet.

Note that now people have.

I suppose you could... but it would take a lot of time and effort.

Better yet, there's a company that sells paper building kits. They'll let you download an outhouse for free.

They're called Paper Creek.

Sometimes, if the decals are old, you can remove the decals with masking tape.

I'm not sure, but didn't Model Railroader have diagrams of the Lincoln funeral train a while back?

I think the blacker black is some kind of black like motive power black,
and the metallic gray paint is called graphite.

But make sure the dirt isn't "fresh". You don't want it to have organisms in it. Some people like to bake their dirt in an oven, but on this forum I've heard at least two failure stories about that method. You could also grill the dirt, but people who aren't model railroaders might think you're a little crazy.  :D

Lanny,
The first I used was on on the top of a #2 wood pencil like any 7th grader would use.  Then I bought the same eraser encased in wood - like a pencil.  More leverage.
Gene

I think I have something like the eraser Gene is describing. It's painted white, with blue plastic bristles on the end where the eraser should be, except the whole thing is an eraser.

I think they call the thing some sort of typewriter ink eraser, but I'm not sure.

Lanny, are you sure he wants another brother? He might just want the brother to be taken away. If I were him I wouldn't want a replacement. ;)

Okay Rio,

Are your locomotives for Bachmann DCC the same ones that you used for Markin AC power?

If they are, you'll have to either somehow alter them for DC/ DCC power , or buy new locomotives to run on DCC.

If I'm right, I think the Marklin cars have different couplers than the Kadee couplers used with most American freight cars. If you want to run both American-style cars and Marklin cars together, you'll have to change the couplers of one type of rolling stock.

If I were you, I'd change the American rolling stocks' couplers to the Marklin style couplers because it sounds like you have more Marklin rolling stock than American stuff, if you have any American cars at all.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the future, Plasser. You can edit your posts here in the future, so if you make a mistake OR SAY SOMETHING THAT MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE (ahem) , then you can change it.

Except that Hoople caught and reported you.

That's what I did to one of my GP7s. Used to be Santa Fe, and then I painted over the markings. I left the blue & yellow ATSF paint scheme. I plan to put my own lettering on the GP7.

Don't forget about the locos on the durago and silverton.

Those are cool.
