I think Bachmann is gonna do better than they expected on the model. just hope they save enough to convert to 2-6-0's  man that would make a nice addition to the 4-4-0.
freight hauler and passenger hauler......thanks ::)

;D ::) Found the awnser by joining the Southern Railway group.

the 4-4-0 was painted green and ran in passenger service from Selma to Mobile. they also had some green ten wheelers in mixed train service.

the members on the Southern Railway group liked Bachmann rendition of the color of green.   thanks  all.

I once saw a model of one of these engines at a train show and it was a very intresting size.
if Bachmann produces this prototype I hope they have the foresight to manufacture it where it can be narrowed to On20.

The thing about having the manufacture adding sound is you have to sacrafice detail to keep the price down.
what about the people that do not run DCC and never will. I have a small layout that only runs one engine at a time so I have no use for it but I will pay for it on future engine runs.

I would rather have a nicely detailed engine that sound can be added later than have a engine with cast on details with a good sound system.
I have a MMI C-16 that was a lot of work to remove those ugly non prototype flange dome and cast on detail...I will never do that again.

sound is nice but it gets to be noise after time. ???

on youtube there is a silent film posted that looks like a quartermaster training film for the soldier railroaders at Ft.Benning,GA. plenty shots of the 2ft gauge 2-6-2t in action. there is also engine facilites shots with all the engines steamed up!..thats neat! ;)
