your right about life like not redoing the DL-109
both runs were sellouts  including new haven

just think of all those great paint jobs you
can do on the FL9
i can think of about a dozen color schemes

of course im happy with bachmanns announcement
of the GP7

now that its been talked about the numbers

how about the paint schemes
i know the pennsy will be in the dark brunswick green
now for the new york central  will bachmann use the
lighting stripe or the later 60s scheme of all black
which is easier to paint

i hope the b&o is in the earlier paint job
but again its easier to do the later all
blue with the large b&o letters

now that i got some of the tears out of my eyes

there was nothing like the 1960s here in new york
i started working while in highschool in jan. 1968
in grand central terminal in a newsstand
this was the last week of new york central and i
didnt even know it at that time
i didnt even own a camera to take pictures
as i walked every day thru the terminal

damm do i remember the last of the n.y.c. gray cars
and a brand new turbo train i used to see on or
about track 11

late 60s were awesome of me  not great for the railroads
nyc and penn went  in came penn central

i never forgot how filthy grand central was the
homeless used the vanderbilt hall like a hotel
in the 70s i started going the queens and found the sunnyside
yard  with all the gg1s you could ever want to see

but i would love to go back in time

hi woody

the first part of the old n.y.c. highline opened yesterday
the rest will be opened by years end

from what i use to see from all the parts of it they did
not leave any of the old NEW YORK CENTRAL name
that was still visible on the main beams

when i get a chance ill get over there and get some pictures

by the way  theres not much left of the old meat packing
companies in the area

lets see what happens to a few of there classic pieces

no one else has a PRR G5 on the market
and of course there classic PRR  E2 ATLANTIC

at one time i had a lot more patience to sit down
and build a kit    of course time takes its toll
on model builders   u know guys   eyes start to go
and the hands arent as study
but lets be honest about BOWSER
there items were a challenge to build and they were
classic

this set came out in the mid 1980s

it came with engine-tender-3 pass cars
track -transformer
it was in blue  and if im not 100 percent sure
i believe the  tender had the drive  not the locomotive
it was in bachmanns fold out display box
it was a big seller back then

ebaynut

your correct about the catanery repair train or wire train
in 1981 i caught a photo of an amtrak wire train in sunnyside yard
at head end was an mp54   train was painted orange

perhaps bachmann can do more M.O.W. cars

you can also try al stauffers PENNSY POWER books

pennsy had a big variety of M.O.W. and also wire trains
about 10 years ago atheran had pennsy work cars
in the yellow and black
there were 2 passenger cars and a few freight cars

walters had a work train out a long time ago

i just got hold of a bowser nc8 caboose in prr
yellow and black
theres plenty of webs out there with pennsy pics
