Bob,

I am sorry to hear that.

Similar thing as Loco Bill, if you live in the Seattle, WA area, we could meet to take a look at the locomotive.  Let me know!

I want to say that it is manufactured by a different company...... Not totally sure though.

From the diagrams that I got with my 2-8-0, it shows that there are three gears in the gearbox.  From your post, you want the first visible gear after removing the cover around the 3rd axle, so its part number is: *0AY02

That is exactly from the diagram, not sure what the "*" is for cause only some parts have it.

If you buy a BIG HAULER, then you will get a version 5 (to my knowledge).
If you buy an ANNIVERSERY, then you will get a...um...better one?(not sure of the correct term).

The main difference between a big hauler and an anniversery is that the anniversery has metal side rides, valve gear, hand rails, etc.  The big haulers are still plastic.

To answer your third question, to tell the differences between a big hauler version 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 is by looking at the bottom of the chassie.  I am not sure of the total details, but certain versions have a slightly different chassie.

I do not work for Bachmann at all (just so that is out there ;D).  I am trying to gather all of the diagrams for all G-Scale locomotives and have them posted on my site.  I currently have the ones for the Bach 2-8-0 and 2-Truck Shay.  If anyone has others that have/could be scanned into a computer, I will add them to my site (which is in my signature).

Mike, sorry I just wasn't in that good of a mood at the time.

About casting, I wish I could help you there.  I am just starting to cast parts, but that is for G-Scale.  Is there by chance a photo of the part you are looking for?

That is true Doug.  I should have meantioned the common-sense thing.  But if a mod is going to delete a post, they should at least notify the poster that they need to stop doing what every they are doing.

Another thing on the rules, I have seen it here on this forum when a new g-scaler asks about another companies locomotive and is.....well....basically assalted (cannot think of the right word) by others about they cannot do that on this forum.  True it should be a given, but if it could be shown in a sticky or something, it would make things easier.

Large / Posting Rules?
October 15, 2008, 03:39:47 PM
I hate to be a pain in the neck, but....

What are the posting rules?  Cause I cannot find them anywhere.  The reason I ask is that there have been a few posts deleated without any reason provided.  So if there are things that we cannot say, then please do say what they are so we will not say them.  And when a post is deleated, could a reason be provided so we know that a line was crossed and know not to go that way again.

I have all of the diagrams from the 2-8-0 including the wiring.  Now if I only have a scanner.....  I will try and see if taking a picture of it will work....

It might not be glued, I just twisted it enough to see that it would come off, and it just keep making cracking and poping sounds.  It stayed in one piece though.
