HO / Re: New PCB board for Brek
April 01, 2017, 05:20:54 PM
The chip that was in the engine before had fried, so I used a dummy DC plug for the last 2 months before the wires ripped out. Since that just completes the circuit i don't think you can put them in the wrong way, i could be wrong. The decoder from the Dash 8 was a Digitrax decoder that has no wiring on it, just 8 pins on the bottom, but does indicate where pin 1 is. Not sure what the item number is.

Okay, since there is no diagram then I will just change over the wires in the motor. I wanted a new motor inside anyway so a perfect time to swap it out.

Okay, so I am gonna try doing 1 and/or 3. With the first one, is there a diagram that will show me what wires go where? I looked at the original board that I took out and it is exactly the same as the one I put in.

For the third one, would that be affected if I end up getting a sound decoder put in? I see that you mentioned CV 29 so if it does get effected, it can be changed, just not 100% sure.

I may just end up returning it for a board that is actually working right before I do anything. I just don't want to wait another 2 weeks for it to come in.

HO / New PCB board for Brek
March 31, 2017, 04:43:45 PM
I purchased a new board from the parts department for my NKP 765 because the wires leading to the engine from the tender ripped apart. I wired the board on just like the old one, put a DC chip (for now) in it and it seemed to be set up exactly how it was. However, while running on my DC test track, when I have it set to go forward the headlight turns on but then travels backwards. Same with when I wanna go in reverse, the tender light comes on but then travels forward. I put another DC engine on the track and it went in the opposite direction from 765. It seems like the polarity is switched but I have no idea how to fix it. I ended up putting in a DCC chip from a Spectrum Dash 8 and the same thing happens so it is not the chip. Any ideas?

Edit: here is a pic of the new board installed

I wanna do the same on my ES44, what is the volume already set at CV wise? I only wanna increase it about 25%

Bachmann's 2017 catalogue is available. Go to the 2016 catalogue and replace the 2016 with 2017.

China has been on Holiday since mid January, most factories are closed until the 12th I believe. Hopefully is Oliver is on that ship, it left port before the holiday. It puts a damper on what I do at work as well, we cant get our products ordered until the 12th, and we are delayed and backed up because of it.

Walthers web site says OLIVER will be released on FEB.14,2017.
COOL!
UPTODAY

Again, Walthers has been very unreliable with a release date. So I would say not to believe anything unless its from Bachmann. I've learned that after what happened a month ago with my news of Oliver and Rosie.

HO / Re: ES44 shell

My guess is that the only design change is wiring for the ditch lights. Seeing as the headlight is attached to the inside of the cab and not the shell itself makes me think that will be the same for the ditch lights.

Play nice children....
Don't make us lock this thread.
Sir, I think you should lock this thread...

Why though? Just because your opinion differs from ours doesn't mean you are right all of the time. Same went for WilsonProductions and it seems like his is gone again. If you acted more mature on here then maybe you wouldn't get the responses that you have been getting.

Anyway, Back on topic...

The announcements seem to be right around the corner!! I really hope that we will see some good surprises from Bachmann this time around. With the reintroduction of the salt van tooling, I really hope that more like that happens in the future especially with the Flat car with paint drums. I have 2 of them and I love them to pieces. Another reintroduction piece that I would love is Well Wagon. Now with the pack being relevant again, I can see kids wanting to use a wooden railway/take-along Jack or Alfie with their Thomas.

As for new tooling, the only engine I can see them doing is Daisy. I would love to have Stepney but as he has not been seen since Season 12, I do not have much hope. Rolling stock on the other hand... I can not think of anything that has not already been done in some form or another that would sell very well. I even checked the Wikia.

HO / ES44 shell
January 23, 2017, 06:30:23 PM
Can a newer run ES44 shell (Conrail) fit on the older chassis (NKP) sans working ditch lights? I would like to be able to swap them out depending on which train I want to run it with.

Seems that this is what was going on and why I heard Rosie was cancelled from 2 hobby stores. Looks like the original model is cancelled and hopefully the new one will have this new paintwork.

Looks like it was to soon for them to tell me and now it makes sense on why they didn't have any other information on her.

I seem to be having an issue with my 765. I normally keep it in a display case when I am not running it and I only bring it out to run with my NKP 8100 excursion or to pull my coal train. I brought it out to run the coal train and it will make 2 laps around my 18' by 20' layout perfectly fine. After that it will shut off then start up and it will keep doing that every 2-5 seconds. I have checked the connection from the tender to the engine and it is plugged in all the way and there are no loose wires. This is the standard DCC non SoundValue Berk. I am gonna get another decoder to try first before giving the service department a call. Any other ideas on what I can do?
Thanks in advance.

I do have a question about the TT #5. It seems to me that the roof is now a dark gray rather than light. Is this just on the prototype model or the production model? I have 2 standard salt wagons and wanted to get the one with the face along with the brown one.

I like the look of them but $8.42 just for 2 sets is a bit pricey for me seeing as I have to do 6 cars. Would these work?     http://www.hattons.co.uk/6984/Bachmann_Branchline_36_015_Metal_3_hole_disc_wagon_wheels_on_10_metal_axles_12_6mm_Pack_of_20/StockDetail.aspx
