Checking to see if some glue has held - is probably too soon!

Hamish K :   I'll accept it. The claim has been around unchallenged since I can remember.

Do you think there is anything in Russia?

Obviously the Big Boys were built for running long straight sections.

What lengths of straight running do we have in the US.

For the world record, it will probably be claimed by Western Australia.

HOplasserem80c : Does a Reply#288 come before a Reply#290?

I think some of you are a bit too skitish for your own good.

Excellent Idea.

There are some nice sockets available from a DCC supplier;and that act piggy-back as plugs. I'm sure someone will use these for the job - with the wiring going straight through the line of the plug/socket. Make your own closures with hard setting compound.

They were  doing a "Detailing Job"

It's now a "Soccer Special"

Soccer supporters generally travel in old coach stock, because of the general vandalism of the coaches.

I have never used an air brush in quite the same way as WounderBear.

A while ago Harbor Tools had an offer on a small air spray gun - it could be for Barn Doors, but I live in hope.

I have not had an opportunity to use it with a larger compressor!

I have alwys found that a compresssed can and a Bader has previously done what I wanted.

scottychaos :  Following reply #285, I thought I was in order.

I learnt to queue at an early age, especially when it was for food - at the Dairy, at the Butcher, at the Grocery Store, and at the Candy Store too.

Dr EMD : Is it order for me to give Ben Wang the obvious clue?

glennK28 : Thank you.

The "Best Friend of Charlston" thread reveals that there is a "National Railway Historical Society" in the US.

I will pass all this on.

rObert : Tell us more.

Were they for the nackers-yard, or for a preservation line?

In 1948, tea after school was a snack or a meal with school friends; and when we enjoyed our train and construction sets together. That October on a visit, we were walking amongst the construction, putting the subway under Yonge St., Toronto.

It is very much a cultural thing to eat various foods "on toast".

The early memories told us by WoundedBear from the wilds of Canada are interesting and shared by others too.

Sid :
Hi!

1948-50 I went to school with Camlacie native kids, up the side of Lake Huron. morning breaks were spent up the tallest trees we could find, swinging from side to side. It was a two room school. The Headmaster eloped with the teacher near the end of a term, and the term was cut short. On the way home through the woods, we would pick asparagus for tea, on toast with lashings of butter.

When people talk about lake-effect snow, it is no joke!

Much of our radio was listening short wave.

Anything to do with food in contact with the containers themselves, and the links are probably stainless steel too.

Craig : There is a really nice strip terminal block type available in the UK: two versions 220v at 5 amps, and 220v at 15 amps.

I have not seen them in the US. I am sure they would be a hit if they were available.
