On30 / Re: On30 replacement freight car underframes

I purchased a undec. reefer in a train show about a year ago and somehow I guess I got something that slipped out of the factory in China.
it has a low slung frame and trucks.....this makes a world of difference!
I wish Bachmann had done this in the beginning.
everyone that has the old OR&W type freight cars then you owe it to yourself to purchase at least one of these and check it out. it tranforms your freight cars very nice....now if we can talk Bachmann into opening the doors the other way.

I once had a O scale 1880's era layout that I enjoyed very much. it was a shelf layout with a lot of switching...learned how to lay stub switchs very well!
Once knew a fella that had a O scale bigboy on a mantle, he just ran it back and forth. but he enjoyed that locomotive probably as much as some of you guys with basement size layouts. you can argue space till the cows come home. besides if large scale guys build indoor layouts then there you go. ;)

I keep thinking that when the movie "Australia" devues here then there will be more intrest in the Puffing Billy.
can't figure why the Aussie lines don't get more attention. they have some of the finest narrow gauge modelers in the world!

I guess there is really no intrest in the puffing billy engine so I guess I will just be quite about it. ???

I think what he was trying to say is the Tweetsie engine looks nice and we are happy...but there would had been sheer elation in On30/On3 had Bachmann made the RGS 20 ;D

What I don't understand is the people asking for a K-27 in On30?

that was a standard gauge engine converted to narrow gauge and the track needs all the width it can get or the engine will look silly like its going to tip over.
a lot of people entered into this scale because of the ease of modeling,I could not stand building a turnout!  but now RTR turnouts are made in On3.

2-6-0...we allready have one, there has been a lot of talk of updating this model, but if Bachmann does this do we loose a inexpensive entry level engine?

Heisler...no argumen here

tenwheeler, has allready been anounced. I think when this engine hits the market there will be a lot of happy people, this is a pretty engine!

framed tank car, no argument. make the framless while you are at it.

I would like to add one to the list, the Aussie Puffing Billy was beautiful Baldwin tank engine that was 30" it will be at home on allmost any little railroad.
I will agree with the last poster. I don't know where the shay ranks on sales, but that is one nice engine. just think 10 years ago you had to pay around a grand or more to own one....are we spoiled? ::)

I am with you on the tank cars!    never could understand why folks allways complain about minimun radius in On30 then you see the same people with a large scale indoor layout! :o

the present Bachmann freight cars are easly convertable to a maine prototype, but to take them beyond eastern modeling is not easy.
most of us purchase the engines and have to resort to other manufactures for the freight cars. :-[
I would think that a person with a small O scale narrow gauge layout would want a few nice cars. why not redo the present freight cars with doors that are removeable and removeable ladders. cast on detail went out with tinplate. ??? >:(

come on Bachmann, we got enought varity of engines, just improve the freight cars...or produce a good generic boxcar ::) ::)

My problem with that engine is I would have to have it in both RGS/C&S.

Why not just update the mogul?   this engines has good lines and has been a good seller.

shortened the smoke box and add the Cooke flange domes, wood cab and the correct stack, either the U.P. pancake or the South Park congdon. what a beautiful engine!!!

need more power do like the South Park run double and triple headers! ::)
