Dear Isambard,
By all means give service a call. They will be able to give you an ETA, and let you know if the issue is awaiting parts from China, which is likely in this case...
Thanks!

Dear chollagirl,
The manual switches cannot be easily converted. You'll be better off getting remote switches from Aristo or LGB.
Have fun!

General Discussion / Re: Calling The Bach-man

Dear Mark,
Sorry, I had no internet for two days (as evidenced by the number of ridiculous postings). All of the board features have not been de-bugged, but we are making prorgress toward our ultimate goal.
All the track configurations will likely require cutting. Numbered turnouts have two straight divergent legs, so there is no radius that replaces the curved leg, as in toy train geometry. To lay out the large loops, you'll have to extend the straight legs of the wye until they intersect with the circle- then trim to get a smooth transition. Either one will be quite large.

Dear Tom,
I'll try to bring one with me, and we'll see what we think...

Dear Tim,
They are display rollers for your locomotives. The ball bearing EZ Riders actually move, but, less obviously, the non- ball bearing rollers, which are less expensive, support the lead, trailing, and tender trucks.

Dear Kevin,
They're not regularly stocked, but sometimes the service department can provide them from damaged stock. Give them a call Monday.

Dear Jr.,
Micro Mark has found that some 2-10-0s have a short in the wiring to the contacts- the solder joints are too thick, shorting on the rear axle. It should be an easy fix; in the meantime, we are looking into it.
I'll keep you posted.

Dear Portland,
Yes, that's why. This was stated when the test shots were posted, incidentally.

Dear Jack,
Just to make your decision more difficult, I really like the Aztek. It is both single and dual action, and the tips are easily interchangeable, relatively inexpensive, and much easier to clean. Check one out in the micro Mark catalog.

General Discussion / Re: Bachmann 5 Amp Booster
March 20, 2007, 11:20:41 PM
Dear Dave,
I've installed one on a new display I'm building. It's easy to wire up, and it seems to work fine, but the display is too small to really challenge it.
Have fun!
