Hello,

Try removing the body shell and pulling some of the excess wire inside.

That is probably the flywheel that you are talking about.  It allows the loco to drift after you turn off the power.

Hi cpkoltz2002,

We have made GP-38's and GP-9's in Seaboard in the past.  I looked on a couple of online sites including railpictures.net to find a lime green scheme that you were suggesting, but I could not find any pictures.

Here are the schemes that we did in the past, but I would call this color green more of an olive green.   Please note, both locos are the same color green, photographs were taken at different exposure settings.  The GP-9 is closest to the actual color.

If you could provide links to some photos, we will add it to our list of future possibilities.

The upgrade kits are typically the last items produced on the schedule since the components are needed for locomotives first.  They should be in stock by February.  Some styles are are still available at some dealers.  Which version do you need?

Hi Joe,

I can't diagnose this one without seeing it.  By the way the EP-5's with dummies are not a new product.  We have not made dummy units in more than 10 years.

Send it to our service department if you cannot solve the problem on your own.

Dear Stubbs,

You asked for a source of LEDs and I gave you one! No need to get nasty about it!  If you know of a less expensive source of these direct bulb replacements please share it with us! These are a custom product that goes right into the existing socket without any wiring or modifications I think they are pretty slick.  And LEDs last practically forever.

As far as the bulbs for the NW-2, our service department has these.

Hi StubbsO,

I cannot explain that without looking at it.  If yor pickups are not making good contact, this can be the cause of it.  Try cleaning them with a Dremel

Dear gulfportjohn,

We have just approved the pre-production model.  They are being produced in December and we will ship them out as soon as they arrive.

The complex graphics were diffcult to get perfect and we wanted to make sure they were 100% right.

Hi Winnipegtrainguy,

Does the sound change when you vary the speed or does it remain the same?  If it changes, it could be a noisy drivetrain in need of break in or lubrication.

Hi StubbsO,

First, TBII is equipped with horn & bell.  The original TrueBlast was a single sound only.   The only diesel locos to get the first version were the first production runs of the BL-2, the FA-1, and the E-7's. On the first run of the NW-2 a bell only TrueBlast was installed (no horn). All of the steam locos had whistle only versions.

Second, to get the bell to trigger on the TBII you need to be able to sustain a 1 sec negative offset to the track.  I am not sure if the TPC400 can do this. I know it sends a negative offset, but I not sure if it is momentary or if the pulse is sent as long as the button is depressed. I have tested on the original PowerMasters and the new style ZW transformers and these work fine.

We increased the length of the pulse on later production boards because a brief sparks created  on dirty track or swtch frogs etc were triggering the sound unit.  That may explain why it works on your older locos.

Hope that helps.

Hi Winnipegtrainguy,

I guess your instruction sheets were missing from the box.  They are prety easy to disassemble. Here are links to the instruction sheets and parts list.  You will need Adobe Acrobat Viewer to open them.
