General Discussion / E-Z Command Controller holder
August 15, 2008, 12:19:19 PM
MR. Bachmann,
Is there space in the top of this controller to put a pin or hanging device, so as to hang it on the fascia of the layout?

There is controller holders available for other brands.. (Digitrax; NCE)

I really do not want to drill into this unit, but do not want to keep laying it on the layout or on the control panel, either....
Plus it has a issue of throwing switches when I do... :P

I will also need to do this with the Walk around Companion at 2 locations.

Thanks for the help!

General Discussion / Re: A new tender
August 12, 2008, 12:49:48 PM
I just purchased a CON-COR Bigboy kit from Hobby Lobby that has a great tender in it.  I plan on using medal wheels, and pickups for power.  I Purchased it for $11.00 on sale!  There are also a thousand parts that can be used in scenery ideas for the roundhouse,  or engine areas!!

Zytx,
Do you have pictures of the install you did for the Shay?  What decoder did you use?  Could I get the Product Manufacturer and Part #.  I have the baffle kit recommended for the Shay.  I am very impressed with the Youtube clip...
Thanks again...

August 12, 2008, 11:47:40 AM
Dear All,
Has anyone put a front coupler on the Lionel Challenger?  I want to  be able to "Double Head" or use this unit for helper service.  I know this is the Bachmann site, but there are a lot of Steamers on this site...  And you are Knowledgeable.  Any help would be appreciated!

Bryan,
You need to contact Yampa Bob,(on this forum) and get his great conversion on using a  switcher to re-power the tender.

It is a reliable solution.

Dear Mr. Bachmann,
Is there any special decoders I need for this engine, or can I just use any one?  I plan on just controlling the lights and the motor.
There are a lot to choose from.....

I want just basic functions.

Thanks for the help!!

General Discussion / Diesel Re-railers
June 07, 2008, 01:27:09 PM
Dear All,
You think I would have noticed this kind of thing before...

I see in the current issue of MR that in the detaling of SP 70 Ton switcher, that there is a Rerailer built onto the foreward truck.  How does this work? Is this common on switchers, or on ALL diesels?

Are there other examples I could look at?

Thanks for the help!

General Discussion / Re: What DCC decoder needed
April 13, 2008, 04:08:51 PM
Bob,
I am not sure.  I have not received it yet.  I just looked at the b/w picture in their MR advertisement, when I ordered one.  I did not know there was 2 different "Runs"  What is the difference in the 2?....

Lionel sold these a year ago.  I have tried to purchase these.  They came with the Gas Turbines.  They said they would "Never" sell these separately....
The email from them was strait-to-the-point..  At the time, I was almost sorry had I asked!!
I have sence used this unit behind my Challenger, made by Lionel...  does not figure!!!!

My Grandpa was 93..  HE STILL talked about cabooses, :o.  He did not mean trains....!!  HE was never old.  He died young at 97.

I hope I reach that realism in life!!

HO / Re: Powering EZ-Track Turnouts
April 01, 2008, 02:20:46 PM
Mr. Bachmann,
Since we are talking Turnouts,.....

Will my EZ-Command system "Switch" these turnouts?  I do not see any documentation on this, with my system paperwork...?

Have I missed something, in the translation?

Thanks for the help.......
