Didn't Burlington have a stainless steel finished E5? Humm?Who else did the E7 besides previously mentioned? Model power may be one of them.Hope the Bmann didn't acquire there tooling. Ya, um, by the way is this going to be a all new tooled E7 by the Bachmann ????

The lights flickering state that you do not have a connection to the handset.Try a good new set of batteries. These things are strange like that.I  use rechargeable  IF i try to cheat with a quick charge the handset has some issues with connection and sometimes does some strange things.Hunts idea is a good check to do .Ihave had mine completely torn down ,it is pretty simple 4 screws removed will get you in .The screen just sits in place on the circuit board. If something gets spilled on it or moisture in the connection to the screen it will be a problem the wayy it connects to the board with dozens of contact points that could be easily interrupted with dirt,by dropping or moisture..

Are they exposed to moisture or been dropped.Sometimes the solder joints crack since they no longer use leaded solder .When the handheld screen does this,,,  are the lights on steady or flashing fast on the base unit?

That should work fine for both loops. How many locos are you planning on running on both loops? Sound or non sound? I don't know the AMP rating of the Dynamis.   Joe
2.5 amps for Dynamis

HO / Sound value tone adjustment
December 08, 2015, 03:56:56 PM
I just acquired a few sound value diesels and looked over the Soundtraxx site and noticed a few things in the manner of cv adjustments that are not stated looks like some misprints where the dd40ax shows no cv51 but this it what was found that controls the beacon.
and cv 217 that deals with motor control but is not listed either.Getting to the point seems there are some literature issues.I realize there is no EQ to adjust the individual tones. Is there a type of master cv that adjust the complete tone that is some sort of secret like a few of the others ?Hard to believe there is not with digital technology. Why are there cv's like 217 that are not listed but admittedly there as stated by Soundtraxx?
Why would these be not updated so that we can get this great sound and motor control that we paid for?

EMD SD24 was made by a few makers, but it has been a long time the last one was made by Atlas and it was a very limited run and nobody has done it since .Would be a nice first generation diesel for the B-mann to do rather then a E7 without the proper cars for it or a B-unit.

Had a few of those Bachmann plus gp 35's and had seen the Spectrum gp 35 and always wondered what the differance was between the two of the besides the box and the color of the motor.Back in the 90's they both had all the same details, but the paint and finishing on the Spectrum was better .Both were of course split frame design and had bronze contact wheel pickups with loops that contacted the frame halves .if the plastic insulating cap that is on one end of the motor is deteriorated it would still run ,but be possibly noisy.IF it is the plastic motor half that contains the brushes and the outer bearing and it is deteriorated then you need to replace the motor .Check the parts catalog on this site .There is very good reference and item photos that will get you in the right direction.

Soundtraxx has a sound decoder for just about everything.Take a look on there site .i remember seeing a Sound decoder labeled Cummings diesel sounds for a switcher that will give you all the sound effects of the diesel power ,plus all the bells whistles,or there new sound car decoder that has some bells and whistles and a few other related to a cab car.

Go to the search files on this site.Enter EM1.I am sure you will find what your looking for.I have seen a lot of connection issues with my brothers decoder since he was afraid to press it in all the way in that he might break something witch he usually does ,but with this one he is learning to be careful. Now a little to careful, but that is ok, now since it his his stuff right.

Thanks Hunt,
I just found some reference about the decoder online and it shows a brightness/dimmer adjustment for the lights that is all.It has been working good.May just leave well enough alone, or get some sound for it then I will have all of those lighting functions to add.

Train shows are hilarious.  People bring in a box full of a broken up 1980 train set and think it is worthy of the Smithsonian. Then there are the tables full of low end Talgo  truck freight cars missing a wheelset or a coupler, called "rare!" And marked up to 25 bucks. Or the horrible shiny repainted cars with crooked decal jobs called " rare custom work."

The only time I ever go to train shows any more is to help my friend set up and run his LHS booth.
I found a first run LL blue box P2K E8/9 B-unit powered at one of those shows. They are extremely rare in the first run since for some reason something happened with there tooling for those wile in Life likes hands and they stopped making them. They reissued them later years ,but were different,The side doors did not open and they were in a gray box turning into Walthers.

cv 5 volts max,cv 212motor control intensity. You can go to the Soundtraxx site for the full list for Bachmann factory sound on board locos.
Always amazed how some take the time to answer a question without even reading it .Obviously there is a dcc system involved when cv adjustments are asked and there is a dcc and sound  Loco question. The holidays are upon us, earlier for some.
