Well, since everyone is doing it, I'll post my stuff on what Bachmann could make in 2020. Keep in mine, these are simply suggestions for what Bachmann could possibly make as it's way too early to make concrete realistic predictions for something literally a year away.

HO Scale-

Daisy
Stepney
Sidney
Stanley
Ryan/Porter/Samson
Philip/Nia/Rebecca (could possibly happen, even though many don't want them. I do, but yeah)
Reintroduced Salty
LBSC Green Thomas/Black James

Troublesome Truck #6 (Van or Tanker)
Explosives Van
Brown Mail Van
Flatbed w/ New Load (Paint Drums, Oil Drums, Pipes, etc)
Bradford
Toffee Tanker/Chocolate Syrup Tanker
Jam Tanker/Dieselworks Tanker
Updated Henrietta w/ Face
Hannah
Dexter

Vehicles-

Trevor

Narrow Gauge-

Peter Sam/Sir Handel
Duncan

NG Brake Vans (Red, Blue, and Brown)
Gunpowder D-Fusit Wagons
BMQ Wagons

Large Scale-

James/Emily/Toby w/ DCC Sound
Rosie
Mavis
Edward
Philip
Diesel (not likely but I'd say still possible)
LBSC Thomas

Troublesome Truck #3
Red Coaches
Henrietta
Hannah
Jam Tankers/Dieselworks Tanker/Sodor Diesel Co. Tanker

N Scale-

James
Edward

Red Coaches
S.C.Ruffey
Tankers (Fuel, Oil, etc)
Brake Van/Spiteful Brake Van

Again, these are all just suggestions. I doubt that more than one sixth of this list will be apart of Bachmann's 2020 announcements unless Bachmann gets a BIG boost in their budget between now and 2020 which seems unlikely. I just feel like these are the ideas I can think of that are at least possible for 2020.

When we get N Scale James in 2020, who should we get with him, if a second engine gets announced? Hopefully, if we get two engines again next year, we could get Gordon, or Emily to join alongside James. When we get Gordon, it will be a real treat, since the big engines are much more possible in N Scale. Gordon is a character Tomix still has yet to make. Of course, we can't have Gordon without N Scale Express Coaches.

While I could see them doing Emily, I think if they were to pair any engine up with James to sell in N Scale, it would be Edward. Gordon would probably be paired up with Henry. Granted we have no idea if they'll do two N Scale engines every year. I truly hope they will as it will help the range to catch up to the Large Scale range and the HO Scale range.

Wow, I'm honestly giddy. The N Scale announcement has gotten me so excited for the future. I just can't wait to see what Bachmann does!

Maybe the Narrow Gauge line will be ended here???? Hopefully not!

I'm sure they'll keep it going. Skarloey and Rheneas sold like hot cakes and I'm sure Rusty will sell well to once he's released. I'm honestly more worried for the Large Scale range. It hasn't gotten a new engine since 2015 (if you'd really call Winston an engine). However, the LS tankers haven't been released yet so maybe they're treating those as the 2019 releases (despite being 2018 announcements) kinda like Rusty and the coaches for the Narrow Guage line.

When Bachmann eventually gets to Spencer in N Scale, let's hope he would be much faster than his HO Scale counterpart.

Omg a CGI style Spencer in N Scale would be amazing. Hopefully a literal "silver bullet". ;D

Not gonna lie, I wasn't so keen on the idea of N Scale at first. But after seeing all the ideas being mentioned, I'm certainly beginning to warm to the idea :) I'm definitely interested in seeing where the range goes in any case and as some have previously mentioned, there's a much bigger possibility of producing the bigger engines in N Scale rather then G Scale! Hope I'm not getting too ahead of myself by saying this, but if they ever announced Bill and Ben, I wouldn't hesitate to model the China Clay Pits! ;)

Cool! I'm glad you've warmed up to it! I agree that unlike Large Scale, this N Scale Range will have a much wider range of characters that Bachmann will be able to make. I'm honestly struggling to find character who wouldn't work in this range. I'm sure there are some but I can't think of any. Probably Winston wouldn't work but that's really it.

In terms of possible engines, I believe all the engines in the HO Scale are possible as well as other characters like Stepney, Daisy, Stanley, Ryan, Merlin, Porter, Samson, Nia, Rebecca, Philip, Sidney, Frankie, Hiro, and more. Who knows, maybe even a N Scale Diesel 10 is possible but maybe I'm getting too excited. There's so many possibilities I see for this line.

I'm sure it will be much easier to make much more of the Thomas cast in N Scale considering there's no moving eye mechanisms or size limits that Bachmann has to really worry about. I'm sure some characters will be complicated to make in the line but for now it looks like it could be smoother sailing with bigger engines like Gordon, Henry, Rebecca, and Spencer.

I guess someone should make a Bachmann in 2020 thread now. :D

The problem I see with this, I'm not an n scale modeller and many other modellers aren't either so there's a big gap in the market but bachmann hasn't actually produced a set like they did with the HO range and Large scale range. For someone new to this it would have been nice to include a set to get people more intrested rather then just the engines and rolling stock. I hope it does well.

True, that is a good point. Would've been nice if they had made a Thomas, Annie, and Clarabel Set and a Percy and T.Trucks Set like Large Scale. Maybe they don't think N Scale Sets are profitable? Idk.

I just hope this line doesn't crash and burn because I love the idea of it.

Well, this thread's become relevant once more...

It make sense that the first products in the new N Scale Thomas range were exactly like most of our predictions. Thomas and Percy were the most obvious character picks and Annie, Clarabel, and the T. Trucks were the most obvious rolling stock picks. If N Scale Thomas and Percy are based on their CGI designs, I hope the coaches and the trucks are CGI style as well. I was never a fan of this inconsistency in the Large Scale range (CGI engines but classic style rolling stock  ???)

If this new line does continue, I'm expecting James, Red Coaches, and maybe even S.C.Ruffey and Spiteful Brakevan in 2020. I'm interested in seeing how this line goes forward. I may actually consider collecting it.

I guess this could be a cheaper year for me, as I got most my engines since Christmas 2017 (Edward, Henry, James, Percy, Toby, Duck, Donald, Douglas, Oliver, Bill, Ben, Spencer, Rosie,  Diesel, Mavis, 'Arry, Bert, Paxton.

Already had the Thomas, Salty and Emily.

Just been waiting for Gordon to come in stock for over a year. ):

Do you plan to get Red Rosie? I plan to get her since I don't have Rosie at all yet so like Grumpy Diesel, I'll just get the new one instead of the old one. I'm interested to see if anyone who already has Pink Rosie will get Red Rosie either to replace it or just to have both. I know that the Rosie fans on Twitter will buy it.

I only hope we'll get an actual character next year in 2020, even if it's another recolor character like Sidney.

The new Christmas set was confirmed to come with an open wagon with present load, similar to the large scale one.

One other thing I think I am going to do is, apart from Gordon, hold off on all the N scale projects I have planned until I see what the new Bachmann lineup will be like.  I'm wondering if the troublesome truck toolings will either be a new tooling or if they are going to reuse the graham farish wagon tooling.

Oh ok. That's too bad. Seems like a missed opportunity if you ask me but whatever.

Going by Cheeky ULP's, if those are the designs for the HO wagons then I'd be happy especially because they come with loads. While I think the Mining Car might be the red one from WR, I really hope it's instead based on the green Trackmaster hopper.

Hopefully the N Scale line is all unique toolings.

I just realized something... since the flatbed has been reintroduced, could the new Thomas' Christmas Delivery Set come with a Flatbed with a Christmas tree load as a reference to Thomas and the Missing Christmas Tree from Season 2? If so, then that set may be worth a pickup for me especially if the other rolling stock item is equally as good (like a brake van or the Christmas Van from "Hunt the Truck").

Well, here it is.

Red Rosie wasn't a big surprise and I'm partially glad they're making her so that we can have the most accurate version of her in the line, but yeah. I was hoping maybe we could get another new character/model to go with her like Stepney or even Sidney. But them's the breaks.

The rolling stock looks interesting. As someone who doesn't mind the filler wagons, I'm interested to see the new open wagons and especially the flatbed with logs. Surprised and a little disappointed at no Toffee Tanker, Explosives Van, and T. Truck 6 though.

No Narrow Guage and Large Scale at ALL is pretty crazy. It's really too bad but I'm guessing they set those ranges aside for...

The new N Scale range! The best surprise of the bunch if I'm being honest. I'm very interested to see where this line goes and considering the market for N Scale, this could be a good seller for Bachmann. Anyways, while this year is a bit on the lackluster side of things, I think in the long run the announcement for the N Scale line will turn out to be a really great thing... hopefully.

Really interesting post, Plow Bender. I pretty much agree with everything you said. It would be cool if they went and converted all the engines to DCC Sound considering as they won't even sell Large Scale Thomas without it anymore. I also like the ideas about Large Scale Mavis. Mavis hasn't been a character I've been super interested with in recent years but your explanation for how easy it could be for them to make her in the line makes me really want her now all of a sudden. I want Large Scale to be thrown a bone after the cancellation of LS Diesel. Any engine right now would be great and Mavis could sell very well when you consider her HO model's sales. I think that right now the two engines for Large Scale I see the most likely now are Mavis (due to her established ease to produce) and Rosie (due to her recent relevance and possible ease as a tank engine). Maybe if Mavis is made in LS, they could also make Henrietta alongside her considering both characters' relation to Toby. Of course this is all just hypothetical.

I just hope that maybe someday, Bachmann will be able to be rid of the budget problems they've been having and then maybe someday we could get Large Scale Diesel for real as well as other characters like Bill, Ben, Duck, or even Edward. But maybe that's me being too hopeful again.

Just a second, Plow Bender. If they were to make a new engine in Large Scale, would they make it DCC Sound like Thomas and Percy right off the bat? If so, that would be cool.

And also if we're doing "wishful" predictions, I'd really want Bachmann to make an HO Scale Stanley model and to come straight out of left field and make Large Scale Diesel with DCC Sound (I know they discontinued him but I'm being wishful here) If not him, then Edward, Philip, or Rosie. That's all I'd want.

How does the announcements work, is there a hype video? Do they just announce it on their website, do we know what time it gets announced. Sorry if I come off annoying, this is the first time I have been around for the announcements.

The moderators for the Bachmann Forums (specifically InsideTrack) usually post a whole new thread dedicated to the Bachmann 2019 Thomas lineup. It's not a video, rather a list of the new/reintroduced products for 2019. Usually the list is split into the three main range; HO Scale, HOn30 Scale (Narrow Gauge), and Large Scale. I don't know the specific time they post the thread.

Honestly for HO, I'd be fine with anything as long as it's something. Stepney, Daisy, Sidney, Red Rosie, whatever they want. Idc

I'm sure there will be a new narrow gauge engine so that'll be cool and hopefully Large Scale gets at least something like Rosie, Henrietta, or Red Coaches.
