I've been to the hobby shop in Kirkwood quite a few times over the years.
I'm about 80 miles South of there now.

HO / Re: EZ Track Curve Radius

To the edge of the layout -
22 = 46"
26 = 54"
28 = 58"
You would want a little extra so the track is not right on the edge.

Mine flies 24-7, lighted at night - "...unfurled to every breeze..."
A constant reminder of our troops in harm's way 24 hours a day.

I've seen a variety of different sizes of the Arch in various places around St. Louis.  Souvenir shops, truck stops, carnival supply etc. You could probably find one close to HO scale.
The Eads Bridge would be a good project because the railroad ran underneath the highway part.
It depends on what time period you want to model if you did the riverfront. The Arch put there in '66.

I got my Model RR newsletter today but not one from Bachmann.
It would have ended up in spam box if it would have been flagged, but it's not.

CPRR - If his hard drive won't boot up, I don't think he can access "My Computer".

General Discussion / Re: Most-historical railroad

Being able to travel by rail from one end of the US to the other end is certainly one of the most historical events in US railroad history thanks to the CP and UP.

I guess I could say the UP is the most historical railroad because of the number of "fallen flags" it absorbed.
Does any other RR have so many it it's past?

I see Sheldon is correct.
The original song was Garryowen. When the 7th adopted it, they split it into two words.

I thought Garyowen was one word.  I love that song.

The Merrimac is famous. In grade school we learned about the Monitor and the Merrimac. Never heard of the Virginia in school.
