Hello Dawg,

The forum is here for your help ask ANY questions that you want.

The MKT unit will work fine on your fasTrack set-up.  The loco needs O-31 curves and the smallest fasTrack curve is O-36.  You will need a transformer around 80-90 watts to run the dual motors.

All Williams locos are conventionally operated no command system is required.  If you want to add that later, you can always do so with 3rd party kits.

Also, unless you have a need to run more than one train on a track or uncouple anywhere on the layout a digital control system is not necessary.  Both major digital systems allow the control of conventional train via the handset.

You are both welcome.  By the way the dimensions are a little smaller than the Bach-Man stated. It is actually closer to 10' x 7'.  There is a lot going on in a little space.

Dear MB,

Yes we are aware of the photo rule too!  Here are some shots from the final construction phase and the finished product at the TTOS convention in Sacramento last year.  The Bach-Man may have some additional construction photos.

Hi Rick,

Our photo gallery is not set up for uploads at this time.  Most people use an outside service like photobucket etc.  Cut and paste the URL of your picture from your service to your post, highlight the text of the URL in your post then you click on the Insert image icon (bottom row second from the left looks like a picture frame) to post the code.   Hit the preview button to make sure that it works OK

Hi Dominic,

The 2 rail standard is DC so no reverse board would be necessary.  The trucks would all need new wheels and to be insulated from each other.

Rick,

I have been trying to locate the older diagrams, but have not found them yet.   Is there anyway that you could take a photo of the board and post it?

Dear All,

The thread was getting a little long with many users just stating that they agree to abide by the rules.  We have kept the revelant comments, but deleted the rest.

We are locking the post and keeping it at the top of the list for the benefit of new members.

Hi JJ,

Our 72' Plastic streamliners have a body length of 18".  These are the longest streamlined passenger car that we make.  They are lightweight and a good match for scale passenger diesels.

Hi Jon,

They are 12 volt light bulbs. They will be dim at low voltages.  If you are running at very slow speeds all the time, you could use a lower voltage bulb maybe 9 to 10 volts.

There are also LED upgrades available from outside sources here are two that I know of.  I have not used either so I cannot make a recommendation.

Hi Rick,

Yes there is a way. I will look through my older documentation and email it to you if I can find it.  Look for a revision number (i.e. REV 1, REV 2 etc) on the board and let me know what board you have.

QuoteI put my new club car on my layout last night and its couplers appear to be 50% higher than either my Atlas O, K-Line, or MTH cars.

I find this interesting because the coupler height on the FA-1, BL-2, Sharks, and CNW Heritage engine appear to be of normal height and mate well with my other cars.

Did anyone else notice this?

Hi Mike,

See the post in the FAQ's

Due to the difference in some coupler heights from different manufacturers, here is a way to make minor adjustments to the coupler height on our freight car truck.

Step 1: Remove the truck from the freight car.   There is a C clip that mounts the truck to the frame of the freight car.

Step 2 Remove the small Phillips head screw near the coupler a shown below. This will allow you to separate the coupler from the truck.

Step 3 Remove the wheelset closest to the coupler.  Slightly spread the sideframes to do this.

Step 4 At the point shown on the photo below make a slight bend, downward to lower the coupler, or upward to raise coupler. Only bend a little a time, it does not take much to change the height.

Reverse the steps to reassemble.
