It is good to know about your test; but, do you know the most Amps being drawn during your test?

So unless you want withdraw the question, your test  does not negate  the need for an official  statement from Bachmann that the Bachmann power red wires with female plug and the E-Z Terminal Rerailer track piece power connection items can be safely used at the full rating of their 5 Amp Power Booster.

Fast Clock usually used during model railroading operation sessions when timetables are used to move equipment. Think of it as scale time for distance.

Perhaps the info in this link may help you.

Sid,
A track plan without a reverse loop eliminates possible complex wiring and limiting operational issues.  ;D

With a reverse loop I suggest ----- you need to decide… use DCC and forget DC or use DC and forget DCC.

OR

Forget using automatic reverse loop module and use a toggle switch (DPDT) to manually change the polarity of the reversing loop as needed.

...

What I am asking, I guess, is......will the auto reverser unit work when the track is hooked to the DC power setup? Can I wire one of these units into the DC wiring? I am thinking it should be able to perform the same task whether in DC or DCC.

Or am I still missing the bigger picture?

Sid
Sid,
Your question already answered. Reread my reply and note " ... Automatic Reverse Loop Modules work only with DCC. "

Sid,
Never too many questions when one is trying to understand.

The sensitivity (amp setting) if set too high the module will be unable to detect the short and thus will not automatically reverse. If the setting is too low the locomotive load triggers the automatic reversing when it should not be triggered.

I know there is some talk… But last I looked all Automatic Reverse Loop Modules work only with DCC. Even though some DCC systems will allow you to control one analog locomotive, an automatic reverse loop module does not properly work when the analog locomotive enters/exits the reversing loop.

Bob
Bob,
I don't believe Bachmann knows. It does not fit their business model, as I understand it, to have a need to know such information. The folks at SoundTraxx appropriately are not providing the information.

You will have to do it yourself or depend on someone to take the time to do the comparison feature to feature and CV to CV. Should I ever develop a need to know (not likely anytime soon) then I will let you know what I find out.

Sid,
You will not  "be popping decoders if it was set to the HO setting."

No manufacturer’s Automatic Reverse Loop Module adds any current on the track.

It just passes the current already on the rails through but matches the electrical phase on each rail. However, it has to handle the amps drawn when momentary short circuit is created by the equipment entering or leaving the loop.

Dear All,
This is from Tom Piccirillo at Micro-Mark:
"The quickest and easiest way to restore operation is to reset the decoder to its factory settings by setting the value of CV30 to 2. You may need a programming track booster to program sound decoders properly. See the detailed instructions written on the CD that accompanied your sound-equipped locomotive."
Have fun!
the Bach-man
Bach-man,
One can program CV30 to 2 or CV8 to 8 to reset the Bachmann’s sound decoder’s CVs to their factory (a.k.a. default) values.

BUT programming CV 30 to 8 will not reset the Bachmann non-sound decoders.

However Bach-man ---  ALL the Bachmann decoders,  factory installed and sold separately, CVs can be reset by programming CV8 to 8.

Note to all,
While CV reset by programming CV8 to 8 currently works for available Bachmann decoders --- Not every manufacturer uses CV8 to 8 to reset their decoder’s CVs. You have to read the reset instructions for the decoder you have.

Yes.

It has 3-postion switch for use with 1, 2 or 10 amps.

Bach-man,
For safety ----
Check and let us know what the current rating is for the Bachmann power red wires with female plug and the E-Z Terminal Rerailer track piece power connection.

Or a statement these items can be safely used at the full rating of the 5 Amp Power Booster.

PS:

Can an MRC 9500 analog controller be plugged into the EZ Command Center "from DC controller" port for DC control or does it have to be a #44605 Bachmann analog controller?
Do not use MRC 9500 --- use a Bachmann 44605 or 44212

To use the Digitrax DH163IP
Workaround --- Turn the  locomotive PCB  end to end.
For more details see info in TCS website   http://www.tcsdcc.com/decoderpics/Atlas%20GP7.html
