On30 / Re: Sprectrom Christmas Street Car
September 20, 2007, 01:44:55 PM

           Gary,

The Christmas Street car will run on any HO track.
The only thing the barn & special EZ track do, is make the reversing, automatic. The old version stopped (delayed) a few seconds, & went back.
The new version has a speed control on the barn, but still pauses & goes back from whence it came.
The reversing is in track not Trolley.

               Enjoy,
                      Barry

     Thanks Gene,
also an even, fairly level surface is needed to help keep track together and smooth.

             Enjoy,

      Hey tvgold,
The Wonderland Express is On30 scale, runs on HO track. the EZ Track supplied with it is NOT very conducive to inclement weather.
Now the good news. EZ track is just that, so easy to set-up and take down, in a matter of minutes.
In fact, today I purchased a Hawthorne Village On30 set, from an Estate sale, set-up was less than 10 minutes, ran train for 30, and tear down less than 5. I had to hurry up and hide it before the wife got home, or there would have been the added expense of flowers.

        Hey Rich19,
Our 4-4-0's are soon to be here. They will feel right at home.
I will have him pulling my new Gramps Tanker, a Fathers day gift, and the new livestock cars. I just need to figure out were to put a siding to make a stockyard.

                  Enjoy,

Spencer Christian  hosted "Tracks Ahead" a train show on PBS Stations.
They were originally made in Milwaukee, Wi., with creator/host Chuck Zehner. Chuck has now passed and the show was redone using Spencer
as host. He has carried on from there.

Michael Gross did several commercials for "Operation Lifesaver",
a childrens awareness program for safety around trains & tracks. in one he stated his Father & Grandfather and he himself, while in college, worked for a railroad.

    Hi all,
TM Books & Videos has DVD's  "Celebrity Train Layouts"   Frank Sinatra,
Tom Snyder, & Mandy Patinkin. I also really like their Christmas Train DVD's,
& The Great Train Story, about the new layout at Chicago Museum of Science & Industry.

          Enjoy,

For Q #5 I was hoping for steam train, but if someone just had a favorite engine, it woulud also be a good answer. I believe there are no bad steam engines.

General Discussion / Re: Train sound effects?

Try a wooden whistle. OK just KIDding, I still use an old Tyco steam whistle Billboard, an electric box, that hooks up to my transformer.
I do so by choice, as I would have the means to do DCC w/ sound if I wanted to.
