Just click the "Order Online" box at the bottom of the product description page and you will be directed to the Shopatron site. They have been available online for quite some time now. Your local retailer should also have them in stock. Check the retailer locator page for a Bachmann retailer near you.

Anything produced by Bachmann before December 2009 in N scale would come equipped with knuckle couplers and spare "rapido" type couplers. Beginning with the second run of our new 44 Tonner in December we've begun to install a brand new "sprung" knuckle coupler (see photo). This will mate perfectly with our original knuckle coupler and will operate magnetically! The new coupler is only included with locos like the 44 tonner, the new C&O H4 and all new locos from 2010 forward. It will be available as a separate sale item later this year as well.
This coupler is quite revolutionary.

I would recommend contacting the dealer where you purchased the model for a replacement. Our locomotives have a limited lifetime warranty and we will replace a defective unit for up to one year after purchase. After the first year we will service the locomotive for a nominal fee.

Production samples have arrived in Philadelphia which means they are on the way. I would estimate a couple of weeks.

Gentlmen,

Bachmann Trains would like to attend every show possible but we are oblidged to work within a pre-set budget for the year. We have to be extra careful now due to the current economic situation.

The 2010 show scedule includes 20 public shows and 7 trade shows including the The National Garden Railway Convention, ECLSTS, NMRA National Convention, iHobby Expo. Trainfest and many more.

These shows include venues in all regions of the country and cater to all scales. We do trade shows (which are quite costly) in order to get the product onto your dealer's shelves.

All in all, we make a concerted effort to get our "roadshow" to as many places as possible but obviously we cannot get to everyones favorite. If it is any consolation the SEGRS is on our short list of possibilities if next year's budget allows.

It's true, they don't repair, they replace.

This is not true. If parts are unavailable due to the age of a product it will indeed be replaced. If parts are available a product will be repaired - not replaced.

As noted; Bachmann does not repair in the USA, except very very minor - they replace.

I wouldn't tell that to the service techs I see everyday! They may take exception to this statement. ;)

One of the absolute best "train" stores in the area is Nicholas Smith Trains in Broomal Pa.
