In theory, could you replace the face with a Hornby or Trackmaster face? I know JD417 used a Trackmster face right?

They do not have DCC sockets fitted as standard: they come as DC only.

Fitting a DCC chip requires some basic soldering and some inventive fitting given the normally small space under the boilers of each model.

On a sidenote, Duck was really the only engine who appeard. D&D,B&B, Oliver and stepeny only appeared like once. I will say the only funny part of DOTD was when the doors kept closing on Diesel 10 and him going ohh after it.
