Dave,
Good to hear from you, this is Chuck in Tampa.
I have been running my two 2-truck shays, with cylinders out, on my 4 foot diameter (2' radius) curves for years with no problems.
You should do fine with the 6.5' diameter.

Ted and JD;
Did you forget something?
I finally got around to trying to add passengers and after removing frame screws there are metal electrical contact strips that run from the battery box to the lights making it seemingly impossible to seperate the body from the chassis without removing the screws that hold the seats in place!  If the seats and the electrical strips are both removed, how would you get them back in place?
Mr. Bach-man, or anyone else, can you please help on this?
Thanks in advance.

Hasn't anybody installed a sound system in the Bachmann 2-6-6-2?
I went to the Phoenix site and tried to download an installation manual that I thought might be appropriate, but my computer keeps telling me that it cant be shown because it doesn't know what program created it.
Any help here would be appreciated.  I really would like to add one of these to my roster, but not without sound.
Mr. Bach Man;
How's chances of selling these with factiry sound like my three truck shay which runs and sounds great.
Thanks,
Chuck

Large / adding passengers
April 25, 2010, 01:16:29 AM
Fellow Bachmannians,
Just recieved my new Big Hauler Mountaineer passenger set, runs perfect, great chuff-chuff, passenger cars light up fine.
I would like to add passengers to the two cars, however, I watched the video and read the manual, but nothing on how to get access to the interiors.
Are their any exploded views of these cars available?
I went to product reference, order parts and even looked at the available passenger car kits but could find nothing applicable.
Any help appreciated.
Happy Bachmanning,

What is a 98003?  I type in the number under large scale product search and nothing comes up.
Thanks,

All,
Just my personal expierience,  I purchased a two truck shay, when they first came out some years ago, and had a Phoenix sound system installed.  Although I have quite a few Bachmann locos, this particular unit is run all the time (my "prime mover") over my 24" radius curves and ridiculous steep grades.  It has never skipped a beat and runs perfectly as it did right out of the box.  Every once in a while I still run my battery operated Tweetsie Big Hauler (lettered Sante Fe), which was also bought when first on sale and it too, runs like new (still get a kick out of the "chuff-chuff" sound). So far, Have not had to return ANY Bachmann product.

Tom and Ted,
I appreciate your responses and help.
To The Bach Man,
I especially appreciate your response, since this is a board for Bachmann owners. However, I just couldn't find any assistance at other sites. I will be getting in touch with Mr. Sweet.

Jack,
I appreciate your comment.  Bachmann, Aristo and USA can all be easily reached, but Marklin/LGB not so.
Once again, I thought my post here would be tolerated due to my extensive amount of G scale Bachmann equipment.
Thanks,
Chuck

Large / LGB sound unit

Dear Mr. Bachmann,
Please forgive me for posting here, however I do own nine various Bachmann large scale locos at this time (all run great, by the way).
Now my problem, I installed a LGB 65003 sound unit in my LGB Genesis Diesel according to instructions, but the sound will come on only part of the time.  I checked and cant find any loose wires.  Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chuck
P. S. Also just got one of the Bachmann G scale Davenport switchers.  It runs like the proverbial Swiss watch and it has absolutely amazing pulling power!  Very impressive.

The dealer switched out the disabled Thomas for another one.  This one runs perfectly and I am impressed with the size of it.  Definitely could be used for 1:20.3 scale.  Too bad I have to give it a face-ectomy, add details and repaint.  Will keep you informed.
Thanks for all the help.
