HO / Re: Dynamis Signal Loss

I don't expect each system to be the same but this feature just kind of seems useless. Why would you want your train to stop when you put the controller down or any other thing that would loose signal like what is it protecting. But that's good it can be turned off and it's probably just my driving style that this feature seems useless to. For the dynamises price I would think it can do just about anything.

I don't have the dynamis but does the main unit really lack the memory to keep running the loco at the last command. I do know the ez command is made so if you have the ez companion and unplug it to move to another plug the loco keeps moving at it's last command until the controller is plugged in again. So the dynamis should do essentially the same thing but instead of the unplugging your just temporarily loosing the infra red connection

That was not his comment that was mine. And I said "I think" and "that's what I've gotten from people" meaning it may be wrong so don't immediatly believe it. I never said "it is" the right answer and therefore is not giving a wrong answer

If you're up to the work there should be a open area to run wires through all the cars to the dummy loco.  If you installed micro plugs between each car they could be seperated and you could possibly add some other lighting.

Also the 0-6-0 is dcc equipped with smoke so I wonder if they've solved the question on how to control smoke on dcc or is it going to be controled by a switch

I think you run 9 locos then can hit function and run 9 switches, that's what I've gotten from people.

As has already been said it's good for fast starts to getting a layout built and lots of modellers can make it look pretty good, but I find it just looks a little too "perfect". I also prefer flex track where you can creat realistic easements and small curves allong with much less rail joints good for modern modelers. So curve detail Is limited, Im also not much of a fan of the perfect ballast the ez track has and it looks pretty hard to truelly nicely blend the track with surrounding scenery. So I guess the thing is there's allot of realistic trackage that cannot be modeled with ez track but it's totally the modelers choice. I've sorts gone on about the flaws of ez track and that's just what I see in it but I do know that unless done perfectly flextrack can require some maitenence too work perfectly while ez track being snap together I would guess would be almost maitenence free and very reliable

I've never used ez track and haven't seen it up close but lifelikes similar type of track has almost like half joiners on each end of rail to transfer power and you can easily pull those off and install full rail joiners to connect regular track

HO / Re: Support Your LOCAL hobby shop?
February 03, 2009, 06:46:46 PM
I live in a city with many hobby shops and I go to about 2 of them regularily. There was another but after some madening trips to it I just stop going there. But the two I like I know many people at and I'm known very well. The store itself is slightly higher priced than the other but it's fun to go there and I feel like I should contribute by buying there. So I try to balance my time at either store.

The locos should work just fine with the decoders still in them.
