General Discussion / Broken tender pin
December 19, 2007, 09:53:58 AM

     Hey All,
I have a On30 mogul running around my christmas tree this year. Now just the engine, as I have broken off the link pin on the Tender.
Does anyone have a good fix for this? As I don't think model glue or others would hold up to the strain of pulling a few cars around.
I'm sure others have done this , if you would please let me kwow how you handled it.

        Thanks,
                Barry

General Discussion / Re: Nickel Steel Track
November 27, 2007, 09:36:14 AM

               Tom,
the Bachmann EZ Track is solid steel on the black road bed, and
nickel/silver solid compound, for better conductivity, on the grey road bed.
I hope this answers your Q.

           Enjoy,
                     Barry

HO / Re: E-Z track versus "regular" track
November 26, 2007, 08:37:18 PM

I prefer the ease of EZ Track, it stays together better and is much more stable than regular track.
there are several sources for layout plans of EZ Track, Bachmann has a new book coming out, (real soon I hope) and some others - via internet.

            Enjoy, Barry

On30 / Re: On30 layout survey
November 23, 2007, 12:11:56 AM

I think I'll revive this posting in hopes of catching any new comers & any new layouts.
I my self am starting a new Christmas village  layout. Got a late start this year, bench work still in progress, & hoping to accomplish much on this long weekend.

On30 / Re: Sprectrom Christmas Street Car
November 19, 2007, 10:23:26 AM

       Gary,
The car is exactly the same, the trolley set difference is distinguished by the red barn is old model, & light cream colored barn is new model.
      Enjoy your new trolley,

Maybe it was the wonderful surroundings, or the company I was keeping, or the rum & cokes, I forgot to remember you folks at Trainfest.
       So how was it?

On30 / Re: IF YOU WERE BACHMANN'S CFO
November 05, 2007, 09:15:07 PM

     Royce,
I've been looking at the velocipede from Weisman for some time now , a short spur from the doctor's bldg., to the main line, would be a great place to display it. I'll need to mount a black bag on the back though.
I really want the Gandy Dancer to be powered, and used as a track Inspection vehicle.

I truly believe they need to finish off the geared loco's. Give 'em the Heisler.
I personally am sooooo glad the 4-4-0 is on it's way. Now if I could just get a Gandy Dancer, AKA  Hand car, to go with my few moguls & trolley's, I'll be in Model train Heaven.

         Hey Duke,
I've gone to Trainfest the last 2 years, but I have a trip to an all inclusive resort in Mexico, that my wife is making me go to this year instead.
Trainfest, Mad City, & Title Town have been on my must do list the last couple yrs. , but I'll be thinking of you from poolside.

            Barry

P.S.  Please give us details of how the weekend went, if you have a chance.

General Discussion / Re: E-Z Model Railroading Book
October 16, 2007, 10:03:44 AM

          Hey Jim,

I don't think they are available yet. Some discussion on this board a few weeks ago , B Man said they were not in distribution.
I too have been ANTICIPATING since it was announced in spring,
March as I recall.

         Any update B Man?

          Rich,
Is that #4  Singular or plural?  If you have more than 1 # 4, than you don't have any #3, but with that #1 you can always get more #4's.

        Enjoy them all,

Large / Re: Sams Club

The "RIO GRANDE" passenger christmas train had a very classy look to it, rather than the gaudy look of some of the others.
Oh well, it's all for fun & a good time.
Also for a good reason. I take the Grandkids to the depot to see the
CP Rail christmas train. The train stops, opens a special boxcar door, & has a 45 minute concert. The cost, is a couple items of food for a donation. It all goes to a local food pantry. That as much as the train, captures the Christmas Spirit.
          Enjoy,
                Barry
