Visually verify that the locomotive actually has a decoder inside and that no wires are loose or frayed. Try doing a factory reset if it does have a decoder and everything appears to be in order.

Do they make any shorter length wires, or is 10 ft the only length available?
Quote from: Nightwing on April 18, 2017, 01:40:17 PMJust because you have some Bachmann EZ track doesn't mean you can't also use flex track. Just buy a bundle of flex track; it doesn't get any easier than that. You can make the curves whatever you want them to be and keep your existing track. It is really easy to use flex track in conjunction with any track with a built in roadbed. This way you don't have to buy a variety of EZ track and you can easily get whatever radius you desire.
No, since I already have EZ-Track 12" radius and straight track in my 29X44 layout. I want to stay with EZ-Track.
Quote from: rogertra on April 16, 2017, 07:01:19 PMWell that really isn't that bad, people have gotten to used to everything being "RTR" that they lost sight of what model railroading was really about. Jonathan for instance always seems to add his own personal touch to everything, sure he can just take something out of the box and throw it on the track but I think he gets a lot more gratification having detailed and weathered all of his locomotives and making the extra effort so to speak to make them really stand out.
Not that simple, requires a complete repaint.
