The Music Box, a little shop in Olmsted Falls Ohio let me test a porter before i bought it (Heck, $3, i'll take it if it runs or not, i was just curious if he knew. ) the owner let me test it before buying it, and it tried running, but 3 of the 4 contacts were out of place, so the next day i came to tell him just so he knows if he has the same problem, he can still get some $$$ for a 5-10 minute fix.

If you do need to send it to bachmann, make sure to also mail in the recit along with the loco so it don't cost the $20 to fix\replace

General Discussion / electric diesel question
September 20, 2011, 09:03:41 PM
In real life, can a electric diesel, like a E-44, be MU-ED to a couple of road diesels without the need of overhead wires? If not, is there another way to power it for service in real life without overhead wires?

The black stuff is to represent coal dust, so you can glue that down and the track may be the problem, but the engine may also need a lube.

Finally got to talk to a person about filming on the property of a warehouse that owns 3 cabooses,... and what are the odds that they'd be Illinois Central...? heck if i know, they have a Erie caboose down the road, but that looks a LOT better, (litterly!) Anyway... does anyone know about IC 9676, 9670, or 9691? They seem in very ruff shape.

Well, it seems like the railroad always has something new to offer, and for an over sized load... this is quite a variety for 1 train!

Can someone tell me what the loads were? I can tell tha the yellow machinery was CAT equipment, half of it being either bulldozers or buckets for equipment. Train I.D. was NS 053

HO / Re: What would be your opinion of...

A hesiler would be nice... a 2 truck shay and climax would be nice for me, sense I run smaller engines and would be eaiser to switch cars around. I don't see why they wouldn't make a good profit.

CNE runner, if you really want a good pulling team for a CMX tanker, go for a Bachmann GP9, mine is stronger than my 4-8-4, and was helping it up the helix with it. The 4-8-4 is big, and litterly slips a lot, doing about 30-40 scale miles per hour at best. The GP9 is not even twice the size of my GE70-ton, which im guessing is around the same size of a GE45 ton, so 1 might be a good add on for you, and it might add on to your monk's island railway if you want to add on a transfer or another layout project.  :)

I got an 8x8 with a 4x4 hole, it leaves me with about 144 inches of main line and 22 radius curves. Also got an inner loop, a passing loop and a small siding (ran out of track). it does look odd but i can have a decent 20 car train running on it. If you got the space, upgrading to an 8x8 with a center whole would be good.

Wish i took some recent video, but this is a good example of how big an 8x8 is. I've updated that about 3 times and moved it upstairs from the basement sense the video was taken...
