You're going to have some noise with locomotives. No way to avoid it. Not sure what you're asking in the last post, but the Bachmann GP7 is very quiet.

"matter of perception" - can i hear wheel sounds un track sticks - its can be criteria?

Generally you don't hear wheel sounds from the wheels unless you have uneven track or the locomotive is going over a switch. The Bachmann GP7 I have also have an MRC 1955 DCC Sound decoder in it, so I can add the sound of rail clack from the speaker if I want to.

Being quiet is a matter of perception. Coreless motors generally are quieter, but like I said, if you have one that does not run well, it will be louder than a 5 pole motor that isn't tuned right.

Can you rephrase your question sir? I'm having a hard time understanding what kind of problem you're having.

I did the same thing with a Pennsylvania GP7. I converted it to Conrail #5759, added trainline air hoses, MU hoses, figures in the cab, and separately-applied grab irons and windshield wipers. I also added an MRC #1955 sound decoder with sugar-cube speaker. Sounds awesome and looks awesome!

Just solder the connections to the outside of each rail.

Not sure why you would want to change to the older, less reliable, ugly couplers.

This Bachmann K4 has chairs in the cab! What brass locomotive has that?!

Why not get a cheap DCC system like Bachmann's?

If Bachmann doesn't have the jumper plugs, you'll have to solder ones yourself.

I would highly suggest a 8mm x 12mm sugar cube speaker either from SBS4dcc or the same size zimo speaker from MB Klein.

I have a Soundtraxx on mine, but you could use an ESU LokSound Select Micro if you want to. The ESU has superior motor control.
