Thank you for all yur comments. When looking at the screw and nut securing the trucks to the tender frame, I discovered a wire to the front truck contact had cjome loose. I resoldered the wire, tichtened the screws, cleaned the wheels, wipers and axles and the loco appears to be running fine.
Thanks again - this fourum is really hel[pful.

Thank you Roger, but I think the problem is with the truck frame to the trander bolster and wire connedtion. I have tries to improve contact with Rail Zip but the improvement is temporary.

I upgraded my (Bachmann) 2-8-0 consolidatin DCC to sound (MRC). The loco and DCC work fairly well but ther is a electric pick up problem with the tender trucks. Are there recommendations on how to fix the problem?

HO / Re: Spectrum 0-6-0 address setting
January 15, 2014, 10:08:36 AM
Thank you for your responses. I have tries various settings, and the loco still stays on address 3.
By the way, prior to resetting the loco decoder, the address setting was 109 and was working.
Any new suggestions?

I had a problem with my DCC booster and sent it in for repair. I had to temporarily switch my layout back to DC.
My Spectrim 0-6-0, Bachmann item 81811, will not run on DC. When I first got the 0-6-0, about 6 months ago, it ran fine on DC; I then switched to layout to DCC and again the loco ran fine. Now when I switched back to DC, the loco will not run. Can you help in diagnosing the problem?

Roger, I appreciate your responding and understand that there can be many different settings. However, I am new to DCC and am running Prodigy Express and would like some input on starting voltage, etc.

Are DCC decoders interchangable?
Can the decoder that came with my DCC equiped 2-8-0 (Bachmann) be used in the 2-6-0 DCC Ready Bachmann 1363 loco?

I purchased a Bachmann 2-6-0 Loco DCC ready earlier this year and am in the process of converting my layout to DCC. What decoder is needed to convert the Loco to DCC and how is it installed? Can sound be added?

Hi all,
Thank you for your comments and humor.
Does Bachmann have any official recommendations?

HO / Steam Loco Maintenance

I have 3 Bachmann steam locos purchased over the past couple of months; an Alco 2-6-0 item 51706, a saddle tank 0-6-0 item 81811, and a connie 2-8-0 item 51310. What is the recommended maintenance for these locos?

Thank you, the connie runs quite smooth now. It was difficult removing the screw and ultimately I had to drill the screw head off.

Thank you for your answer.
I feel a little stupid, but how do I get to the electric (logoc) board? I tried to remove the tender body but so far no success.
Can you give some hints?
