HO / DCC Track Voltages
August 04, 2008, 03:38:51 AM
Hi Again,

I had all DC & DCC locos removed from the track to do the test. My DCC locos have addresses of 1 & 2.

By the way. I cannot reply to any of your answers, as when I do a message comes up and says my time has reached the timeout limit. It says to  logout and then login again. Re-write the message all within 5 minutes, and the message comes up again.

Thanks. Col.

HO / Track Voltages using EZ-Command DCC System
August 02, 2008, 04:53:08 PM
Today. As I placed a NON DCC loco on my tracks, I noticed that the headlights came on. And the loco did not move. I checked my EZ-Command unit and it was set for NON DCC locos, (Button 10 LED illuminated). I removed the loco from the track. I got out my Digital Multimeter to measure the voltage on the track. I found that it was 15.4 volts AC. Would this 15.4 volts AC damage any DC loco that would be placed on the track.  ??? When I operate the speed control knob, the DC loco works fine. And so does a DCC loco, at the same time. Regards. Col.

HO / Scratch Building

G'day All.  ;D Would anyone know where I can download free A4 sheets of Brick, Timber, Galvinised Iron, Stone, Concrete, and the like, full scale so they can be printed on my printer, and be able to be glued to scratch built buildings that I make from Balsa wood. I have no idea what you can these sheets.

Thanks.

Phoning is your best bet but if you want to email them put " Atten Bridget" [i cannot remember her surname] in the subject box. She is the only Bachmann employee who has replied to my numerous mails. Very very helpful too.

It is a little expensive to ring from down under in Australia,  ;D and I cannot find an email address to send an email to.

Thanks for the reply Yampa Bob.  ;D I checked it over and still cannot find where they go.  ??? I think it may be something to with the installation of a decoder.

I cannot find where I can even contact Bachmann via email, to ask them.

Thanks once again Bob.

HO / Ballast Regulator
May 10, 2008, 03:53:53 AM
G'day again,

In the box that my Bachmann Ballast Regulator came in, there was a small plastic packet with two small pieces of black plastic, with two holes in each of them. Can anyone tell me what they are for, as there is nothing in the instruction leaflet.

Thanks.

HO / Changing Headlights
May 10, 2008, 02:29:53 AM
G'day again,
I forgot to ask you a couple more questions.
1. How do I remove the body of the 2 diesel locos below to replace the both headlights.
2. Can they be replaced with "Constant Current Controlled White LED's.
3. How can I replace the headlight on the USRA 0-6-0 Loco.

Item No. 60301, HO GP40 Diesel Loco - DCC Equipped, "Union Pacific"
Item No. 60348, HO GP40 Diesel Loco - DCC Equipped, "Alaska"
Item No. 50701, HO USRA 0-6-0 W/Smoke, Vanderbilt Tender, "Union Pacific"

Many thanks.

HO / DC Voltages on Bachmann Locos
May 10, 2008, 02:06:28 AM
G'day from Down Under,
I was wondering if you could help me. I am the proud owner of the following Bachmann loco's, and other things.
Item No. 60301, HO GP40 Diesel Loco - DCC Equipped, "Union Pacific"
Item No. 60348, HO GP40 Diesel Loco - DCC Equipped, "Alaska"
Item No. 50701, HO USRA 0-6-0 W/Smoke, Vanderbilt Tender, "Union Pacific"
Item No. 16947, HO Maintenance Vehicles - Self Propelled Ballast Regulator
Item No. 46202, Gandy Dancer.

At the moment I will be running them on my layout using DC. I will eventually go to DCC, but not just at the moment.

My question is this. What would the maximum DC voltage to apply to these items.

Many thanks.

My question is this. What would be the maximum DC voltage that can be applied to this loco. I hope someone can help me.

Many thanks.
