HO / Re: H-0 E Z Command

Thanks to you all, studying the Video and absorbing it.  Bringing back some memory as how, when I first purchased it. I have to go back and find the cables and see if I can find the remote plug in plate. I thought I had it all put away, seems I have more somewhere else.
Part 3 of Video describes the remote plug in plate and wiring. Now if I can find the plate and wires ??

Bill........Just read your message. I'm not sure but the several jerks are a part of the DCC engine conversion. If itdid that and is correct, then press stop button to Exit and it should be programed.
Otherwise Some standard DC current engines on button ten do not have a motor that will adapt to the '10' button.    Am wondering if you solved the problem ? I have several std Dc engines that run on '10' fine.

HO / H-0 E Z Command
December 05, 2012, 05:55:19 PM
As usual I've misplaced the directions for the E Z Command unit. I'm fine with the use of 1 Controller. A few years back I purchased a second controller so 2 persons could run trains. I'm at a loss as to how to connect up the 2 units. The instructions I've printed, out state to connect the black interconnecting cable provide. I see a USB or similar port marked I/O but see no means to connect the 2 units into that port. I have the 2 wires that have the correct plug in to the I/O but the other ends are telephone (similar ) jacks. Trying to get this wired for a Christmas display so visitors can run a train. All help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Can't believe that someone does not have at least an inkling of what is necessary. Not a single reply ?? Has this been discussed before ? :(

Depending on the Decoder, I read that certain whistle bell and other sounds can be changed. Or reprogrammed. What is required to do this ?
Computer, USB cable, track, software. I want to get my feet wet and have no idea what I need.             Thanks

HO / Bachmann DCC Sound
January 17, 2008, 10:36:55 PM
Mr Bachmann
Have recently purchased 2 Bachmann Engines that have DCC.  I want to add sound. Neither engine has a DCC board that will accept a 'plug in'. Where do I go from here ? Can sound be added ?

Refering back to this and several other threads, I see 7 functions that are available on the controller of the EZ Command system. Would someone be kind enough to furnish the functions 3 thru 7 ? I have found the Bell at 1 and Horn at 2 . What are the other 5 ? Also the part number for a 2nd throttle.

But are they compatible ? (Sure it's DCC )The new system can be added to the original ?
At a list of $300, it appears it is a completly new and different and NOT an add on or upgrade !

On the E Z Bachmann. Buttons 1 thru 9 are locomotive addresses. If you are correct I could take 1 locomotive OFF button 1 and re program it to say 6 or 7. Then just save 1 and 2 for horn and bell ? I don't think so. On another thread here, It says to hit the function button (yellow) while addressing the locomotive. this will allow a sound function.
Perhaps the BACHMANN will come in and clear the air ??

Well. this thread answered my question elsewhere if sound could be controlled on the E Z system. One sound at a time is fine for me, I thought I was going to settle for motor noise only. great information !

I purchased the Bachmann E Z Command for my 4' X 9' layout. Also purchased 2 Bachmann DCC locomotives. I have mail ordered a DCC board and sound unit for an older Diesel (Not installed yet). I'm concerned that the Bachmann system, although just great, thus far, has no method or buttons for the horn or bell that I know of. Seems I must scrap it for another system ?? If the Bachmann or any others can help me retain the E Z command system and somehow get a Horn and Bell control, it would be very much appreciated. (Returning back to my H-0 Roots after 14 years of G gauge) Joe
