N / Steam The MIKADO & 2-8-0
August 29, 2018, 12:23:19 AM
Since BACHMANN upgraded, Improved and introduced the Spectrum 2-8-0 which I obtained 4, My question is this.  Will we see a Spectrum version of the MIKADO 2-8-2 at some point?  I still have the Instruction Sheet for the OLD MIKADO 2-8-2 and CONSOLIDATION 2-8-0 even though my Locomotives of that version are long gone aka sold.

Should I assume that this topic is on the current OLD TIME 4-4-0. However I would welcome the
American 4-4-0 ALL NEW TOOLING and the Baldwin Modern 4-4-0, in N-SCALE.

N / Re: 2-10-2 Shell on Light 4-8-2 Mechanism?
November 16, 2017, 02:18:12 PM
Maletrain,

    I've been considering placing the 2-10-2 shell on a 4-8-4 ... and not the N. & W. J class either.

N / Re: Why not make various shells for same mechanism?

If it's the BACHMANN GP40, GP50, U36B... over the years I found that these locomotive shells will fit the same chassis, if it's the Bachmann F9A or the old Minitrix F9A I found that these will fit the old ATLAS / ROCO F9A chassis.  Hope this helps.

Being that I once resided CANANDAIGUA,NY , I have the book on the NC -The NORTHERN CENTRAL Railway A correction should be made on the BACHMANN'S current run of the HO-SCALE NORTHERN CENTRAL 4-4-0 the N.C. RR should read as N.C.RY. .  Second is there any chance of producing the NC RRR 4-4-0 IN N-SCALE?

Hi
Light or Heavy. The newer Heavies should do 9.75, with no issues. Light Mountains can't do less than 11 slowly and have pilot truck derailments, even then.
So, if it's a heavy, I recommend watching it, with LED lit magnifying specs and see it'd it's trackwork, or wiggling something. If it's a Light Mountain, I haven't seen a solution, sorry.
Edit - Spookshow has a write up on these. While there is no solution offered, he does show a completely disassembled Heavy. Since the heavy doesn't have an inherent derailing issue, maybe you will note a mod you can make?
it's the Light 4-8-2 .

I was just playing around with a used 0-6-0 I got off the bay and after adjusting the cylinder assembly It runs good.     I beleave it does need some frame shims for the TT driver as you can see and hear the wheel oscillation. But I am really impressed with the slow speed performance of this engine with only the old one tender truck pick up.

RGW,  Nicely done, however as a reminder you might want to check your grammar on -beleave- it should be believe
