:D First, I would wonder why, for $15, you don't just send it in to be replaced? That being said, what parts do you need? (I may have them from a unit that I'm going to send in to be replaced!!)
                                                                                    THANX!!

HO / Re: What happens to the repaired engines??
February 20, 2008, 06:38:58 PM
:DA few years ago, a friend told me that the repairman is a foriegner (Chinese??) who doesn't speak a word of English, and everything sent in for "repairs" is just tossed, and a replacement is sent out. When you are told that your unit is being replaced, you can request a roadname change, or even the type of loco that it is, all depending on what is available at that specific time, which is why I requested that an up-to-date and current catalog or list be available to those answering the phone in CS in another thread. Because of some of the comments made in that thread, I simply abolished it and took it and all comments off this board, but not before I was assured that Mr. B was aware of and would look into that possibility!. For a few more dollars, you can even upgrade it to a SPECTRUM! I'm not sure, but you could probably upgrade a non-DCC to a DCC!

;)It's refreshing to see that there is actually someone else in this world who has a "train room" in as much (maybe) mess as my own!!There are ideas and projects in various stages of "work" (none is near completion!!) and "junk" is all over everywhere! The times (rare) that I get to work on it are spent upstairs on this stupid (SLOW) computer!... Think I'll quit playing on this computer for a bit, and go downstairs to work on the "TRAIN ROOM"!!

HO / Re: Can someone explain track radius to me?
January 09, 2008, 05:57:49 PM
???but, I've still got the question:
How do you know if the piece of track you are holding in your hand is 22" radius, or 15"? Perhaps the section that you need filled requires a 12"!!
                                                                             THANX!!

HO / Re: E-Z track versus "regular" track
December 25, 2007, 01:11:32 PM
Why not free-lance an adapter that can be used to make the "Christmas tree" oval fit into the layout for the other 11 months? This idea came to me as I was watching the train the other evening. I'm going to make a place on my layout for the E-Z TRACK and fix it so that it will be totally operational for 11 months, then, when it is removed, I can put in an oval of "regular track" (unscenicked) to keep the layout operational.

HO / Re: MOW transportation?
December 25, 2007, 11:32:52 AM
"Yes, they have been doing that.  We have a junction right next to my work.  The UP parks their MOW equipment there from time to time.  There are rails afixed on flat cars.  I have seen some specialized equipment riding on these cars, that fit regular track ":)

Are the rails on these cars on ties, or are the rails connected directly to the bed of the car?

HO / Re: Question to the masses
December 21, 2007, 09:39:42 AM
NOW, I've got a PROBLEM!! Every time anyone posts anything even remotely "RELIGIOUS", it is DELETED; now, here is a "QUESTION TO THE 'MASSES'" and nothing has been said! :'(
Well, I'm here as a voice in the wilderness to cry out that MOST of us are PROTESTANTS, and that means that we are PROTESTING (NOT MASSING!)!!
PLEASE take this into concideration, and be more RESPECTIVE when you ask your questions!
                                                              THANK YOU!... and GOOD DAY!!

How do you determine the radii on a piece of track?
                                                                                           THANX!!

If you buy larger curve radii such as 24" 26" or 28" radii your equipment should track much better over that without derailing.

HO / WOODEN BOXCARS
December 20, 2007, 10:40:16 AM
Is there any easy way to identify WOODEN BOXCARS, other than scratching them? I've got some OLD cars, and I think some of them may be of wood, but I'm not sure!(Also, most of them are needing a part or two!!

 :'(GREETINGS, MATT!!
And THANK YOU for your reply, even though I am a bit saddened by same!! I am planning to build a depiction of a burning building with all the trimmings, and "SMOKE" was going to be very much a part of it! I got siren sounds (taken out of FIRE TRUCKS from GOODWILL), flashing lights, all the trimmings!! Now, I'm CRYING!!!... But THANX!! anyway!!

GREETINGS!!
Is SMOKE a bad idea in a burning building? Also, does anyone have any idea about making it BLACK? I've tried adding OIL and that doesn't work, but I really want to make a realistic burning building!!

Surely, someone has an idea!

Well, Lionel O gauge trains won't run on Bachmann HO track.

Please note here that he said "LIONEL", NOT "LIONEL O"!! Since the discussion is concerning HO GUAGE, one would naturally think, and correctly so, that he were speaking of HO, manufactured by LIONEL!! SURPRISE!! SURPRISE!! LIONEL DOES/DID MAKE HO!! -And I have a BICENTENNIAL ENGINE CABOOSE TO PROVE IT !!         8)WOW!!
