Hi Joe,

         671 here.

Mario's trains sells the three car set @ $ 105 and Trainland / Trainworld sells it at $115. Sager is the Observation car in their sets.

                                 Hope this helps...671

Hi Joe,

Lionel's late 40's early 50's catalogue indicates three "Pullman" cars in the Madison set. It did not have an observation car.
"Sager" was not a name, indicated in the catalogues, on any of the cars at that time.
Possibly this is an early Williams reproduction trying to emulate the original Lionel. I do not know for sure. Lionel, I strongly believe, did make the "Madison Set" without Observation cars.

If this is not the case, then someone is trying to sell passenger cars that have been "Monkeyed With"  I.e.  Mixed parts from different units to make a car to sell.

                               Nice talking with you again...671

Hi ASQTec,

671 here. I have the 773 WbyB. Your new Hudson is suppose to have both traction tires in place. Put the spare traction tire on and then enjoy a smooth, well balanced engine.
Contact Bachman service and have them send you a replacement pair. When I recieved my new 773, it did not have spare tires. I contacted Bachman and they sent me a spare set.
Make sure that your wire harness between tender and loco has enough free play. An up and down loop would relieve pressure on the harness during the rounding of curves.
Oil it up correctly, give it a total of one to two hours of "Break-In Time" (light running,no load, vary speed, monitor motor temperature)
Then it is time for fun!!!

P.S.  If you put the tire on with "Rubber Cement" ( Found at Home Depot or Staionary Stores) Longer life will happen due to the fact that tire will not buckle on the rim during heavy hauling

                               Good Luck...671

The electronic reversing unit will have a pair of "Sugar Cube sized" relays on it. Usually Black or clear. The speaker wires go to the sound board. The reversing unit is wired directly to the chassis and the center roller pick-up.

kemacan,
Hi, 671 here. If the sound board is plugged into the electronic reverser board, then all you would need to do is unplug the sound board from the reverser board to de-power the sound system entirely. If the sound board is bad, you can order one from "Trainland" on-line > $30.00. Then just replace your sound board...Simple !

                            Hope this helps...671

Hi WKT,

The True Blast II requires track A/C voltage 6 volts and above to work. When it is plugged into the reversing board, it is "Piggy-Backing" the track voltage received by the reversing board. It is a direct connection to the outside and center rail.
Just keep one item in mind...If you connect the recommended center wire connection to the outside rail and the outside rail connection to the center rail...This will cause the horn to blow on the bell command button and the bell to ring on the horn command button.

                        Hope this helps...671

Hi jmc8922,
I use LGB Smoke fluid. It seems to be a thinner viscosity. It spits very little if at all. How is that smoke unit retrofit working/looking?

jmc8922,
Hi again, 671 here. Go on line and check out DALLEE Electronics site. They have a wiring diagram that shows the use of a bridge rectifier along with diodes to produce the voltage reduction to the motor that I mentioned.

jmc8922,
Hi, 671 here. My semi-scale 2056 is still smoking. I used two diodes in series on the plus side of the electrical supply to the smoke unit from the voltage reducing circuit. This got me down to a peak of 6.5 volts at a track voltage above 10 volts. If you run your train, as I do, at a lower than 10 volt track voltage; you want to only use one diode in series. This will keep the voltage to the smoke unit itself, higher at a lower track voltage. This will produce a greater amount of smoke at a lower engine speed.
My unit, using two diodes, does not start to smoke heavy until 10 volts. But at 10 volts the loco is traveling at a high rate of speed.
One other thought would be to use the two diodes as I have originally spoken of and in addition add diodes both sides of the motor. This will make the loco start slower with an older lionel transformer (no Jack Rabbit starts) also run slower at a higher track voltage.
This is exactly my next customizing of this loco. I think three 6 amp diodes on each side of the incoming power to the motor ( total 6 diodes 3 and 3 ala Joe Satnick) Should do this loco well. This should create about a 3.5 volt drop in voltage at the motor in respect to the actual track voltage minus whatever drop is produced by the electronics within the electronic "E-unit"
                                 Hope this helps...671

Hi,

Try "Graham's Trains" on line. I just saw it ther for 129.99.

Hi SantaFe158,
Yes you are correct. Both locos navigate 031 tubular track.
The semi-scale 2056 is not a small loco, it has a nice size and weight to it. It is not like a Lionel "Scout" loco.
The 2056 boiler is the exact same boiler as the WbyB Berkshire locomotive's boiler. I find that eventhough the Berkshire and the Semi- Hudson share the same boiler, The Hudson has a better balance to it. The Berk has 8 drive wheels the Hudson has 6. The Hudson's rear drive wheel is more forward from the cab side of the boiler than the Berk. I believe this gives the Hudson a better balance point to the traction tire wheel. I have both locos, the Semi-Scale Hudson runs and pulls loads noticeably better.
The  773 is the same locomotive as any of the other WbyB scale Hudsons, the difference is the tender.

Hi Stationmaster12,
I have the WbyB # 2056 Semi-scale Hudson. It is a 4-6-4 wheel configuration = Hudson. I also have the WbyB #773 Scale Hudson.
The Semi-scale # 2056 came with the same streamline tender as does the S2 671 Turbine. It has a plastic shell with true blast II sound effects. The loco is a favorite of mine. After I broke it in, smooth running, strong puller, quiet operation.
The 2056 is smaller ( semi-scale) than the scale size #773 Hudson. The 773 Hudson has open spoked drivers, the tender is the same type that came with the Berkshire loco. It is rectangular in shape and is made of a heavy casted metal ( real nice ). True Blast II sounds. The loco and tender combination is about one inch shorter overall than the other scale WbyB locos because of the difference in the tender's size. The other scale WbyB locos have a larger cast tender.
Both Locomotive are real nice...Get Them Both!
                             Hope this helps...671
