Thomas & Friends / Re: G Scale Thomas

any kind of g scale track. Astrocraft, Bachmann's brass track, LGB.......the possibilities are endless. just as long as the track conducts electricity, Large scale Thomas will operate. it's like taking a standard Bachmann HO Thomas and using it on regular Bachmann EZ track or Hornby or Peco track.

the Rocket at the Nat. Rail. Museum is only a replica. So i guess Stephen could say he had a "brother" or something like that.

Although fantasy, Thomas's adventures should also teach us right from wrong ;), and water, on an oil, electrical, or chemical fire is just wrong :'(. A one word edit, "water" to "foam" and youre golden again :D!

You are quite right, my friend.  ;) I feel like T&F is like another great British show, Doctor Who. Although fantasy, in DW's case, Sci-Fi, they both incorporate real life references or scenarios. For example the real Stephenson's "Rocket" was just introduced into the Thomas TV series, or The Doctor going back in time to cause the Great Fire of London or meeting William Shakespeare.

Thomas & Friends / Re: The Layout Thread
September 05, 2013, 10:57:33 PM
I've been thinking about redoing the layout. Instead of the two 4x8 tables together with the 4x4 coming off of it, maybe configure them into a "U" shape. This will allow the engines to have a longer run and i can get to every part of the layout easier. I'll still keep the same locations (Brendam, Great Waterton, and Tidmouth), and hopefully i can fit in an extra yard for the carriages.

Oh and I had ordered Duck last week and he came yesterday!  ;D I'm pleased with how he turned out!

you can, but you would have to sacrifice the moving eye units.

They got the episodes from the PBS website so I'm pretty sure they're legit. Seems like a good year for the series!

amazing detail!  :o i look forward to seeing other parts of the layout! and is that Heljans Hymek model?

i know the Nat. Railway Museum does a thing for driving an engine. You have to pay X amount of money and you get to drive a steam engine for Y amount of time. There are more details on their website.

How about the Forest of Dean Railway to see Wilbert? ;)

i kind of find it hard to believe Thomas having a low budget. Thomas is a muti-MILLION dollar gold mine! they only switched the CGI because they didn't want to pay the taxes on it. they went from really good CGI, for a kids program, to not that great CGI. this situation is what I call "The Miller Effect" story lines go down, CGI goes up. Story lines go up, CGI goes down. just goes to show "you can't win!" -Duke

he never returned after that episode because they messed up the model when they shot the "rock slide" scene.

......and that was the last time we ever saw her.

if the look of the characters change in a show, then the products (i.e. toys, model trains, etc.) have to change so kids don't get confused. in my opinion, all the engines will match their CGI counterparts at some point in the future.

Wow! It just goes to show that you are never too old to be a fan of Thomas! I'm 16 and there is no sign of me ever growing out of it. I'm currently trying to build my layout to be a combination of TV series and Railway Series. little by little it's coming together.
