I have converted the Bachmann 2-8-0  with the 2-6-0 boiler, minor cutting and grinding. The 2-8-0 boiler/cab is about 1&1/2 inches longer,
perhaps a 2-8-2 chassis might work better or boiler shortening would be required.

On30 / Re: 18 foot railway cars

The article was in the May 1975 issue of the Gazette.

First D&RG cars were 4 wheel cars with a length of either  14 FT or  17FT   1872-gone by 1903
second order cars were 2 truck with a length of 22FT     1872-1903 ICC rule change did not
make it feasible to upgrade.

Short cars 20FT 6In  Gondola were built by Magor for Braden Copper Co in Chile for use on the
Railways 2FT 6In line.

Great photos of the Esquel operation, missed out twice on making a tour trip, maybe third time lucky. Working on a couple of their boxcars for my layout. have modelled a bridge and
a tank car, working on one of  Henschel 2-8-2's which operates there.

Also a couple of videos on the line.

       While not a Beyer-Garratt 2-8-0+0-8-2, E.Hattons / Heljen offer a B-G  LMS 2-6-0+0-6-2 in
OO scale. It runs flawlessly with dual motors, DCC plug in. I did upset E Hattons when I suggested I may repaint it for the Canadian Pacific Railway though! <G>. The scale difference between HO & OO is not noticeable with a consist of HO cars.

Just took a look at the Bachmann HO Thomas products, and they offer the brake van
   for the Thomas line.

Thinking back to what InsideTrack said, I wonder how difficult it would be to show the factory the artwork that the large scale brake van is using, and apply it to the OO/HO brake van.
[It would be one heck of an improvement, and rekindle interest in a product that a lot of people have forgotten about.

Or you could go to Bachmann UK, and take a look at the OO scale brake vans they already offer  in there freight car line up.

Coronado Scale Models offered plans by Edward H Cass for the ET&WNC engines # 10-14 in 1/4" scale, not sure if still available or current price.

I can remember when the only commercial vendors were the LHS's. The Supertrain show just keeps getting bigger & better every year. Maybe we will hit 15.000+ visiter's this year.

For suitable cars, take a look at Bachmann UK or PECO products.
