Never share a foxhole with somebody braver than you.   :D

I haven't.  I've always been a bit suspicious of it.

Um - do you know when Amtrak began?

Can't afford a new locomotive?  A sound decoder is too expensive?  No room for anything larger than a 5x10?
Take a look at these train pictures.

The Strasburg Railroad actually runs freight service to a plastic plant.  I've seen a picture of one of their steamers - the Russian Decapod, I think, pulling 100ton covered hoppers.

To begin, it's "consider," not "cosider."
Important?  Placing that turnout under the bridge, just inside the tunnel..... :D

Is this the Chinese 2-8-2 or the old 2-8-0 with the cobbled on trailing truck?

I don't NEED one, but there is every chance I will wind up with three! <g> That will be two C&O and one undecorated for the VT&P.

Exactly.  We need to have more information to give an educated suggestion.   Another item - what is your favorite railroad/railroads?  For instance, I'm a steam fan, but have no use for PRR, SP, or UP steam.   Period.   ;)

WHEN did the 4464 look like that?  That photo looks much later than the 1950s.

The H-4 is not a C&O "version."  It is a C&O locomotive  I think that the USRA 2-6-6-2 MAY be a variant of it.  (Which could explain why the C&O did not like the ones they received!)

The first layout is to learn on.

I'm wondering if the Woodland Scenics "water effects" isn't anything other than silicone calking in a smaller, more expensive package! :o

The current pre assembled Walther's 130' is to die for.  The ONLY thing it doesn't do is play "The Wreck of the Old 97" as she spins the locos!
