HO / 45 Ton Switcher....HELP

OK.....I've read the instructions.....still can't get the thing apart.
Anyone have a suggestion? Couplers and draft boxes have been removed.

Any suggestions on a decoder w sound for this. I love the look of these and have just switched to DigTrax DCC
