Title: Mogul chuff?
Post by: Gerryk on October 20, 2008, 09:05:56 PM
No one told me about sound when I bought my g-scale Mogul, and I haven't had it set up yet.  Does it chuff as it came from the factory or do I need sound installation?

Depends on the Mogul you have.

This is the Spectrum version of the Mogul.  It does not have sound.

If you have this Industrial version then it has chuff only.  The chuff is powered by a 9 volt battery that is installed under the tender water hatch.  The sound in this version is very basic; same as used in Bachmann's 10-Wheelers.

Thanks to all.  Yes, it's a beautiful locomotive.  Too bad no sound!  I'll schedule a visit to the nearest train shop.
