Title: Definitions and Descriptions

I am new to this hobby and was wondering if there is a data dictionary regarding terminology.  I have read various discussions and some of the nomenclature leaves me scratching my head.  i.e. frog, turnout,

Turnouts are switches. In model railroads, they are called turnouts so as not to be confused with electrical switches.
