Title: 0-6-0 switcher DCC
Post by: willis on February 20, 2025, 03:42:20 PM
i broke a wire out of the tender plug
parts only shows the engine harness as S25209-11.
i cannot find any tender harness listed anywhere in Bachmann parts store.
i found a listing for Connie 10547 and Connie 10548 one has 8 inch wires the other has 3 1/2 inch
wires.
i have emailed twice called twice with the phone i got leave a message and phone number we will contact you.
i have not been responded to either way.
all i want to do is get the correct part.

Look in the HO universal parts section, there are 2 and 4 pin plugs (and others).  I am 99% they are the same ones.

If the wire broke and the metal connector is still inside the plug, you may be able to repair it.  It requires a bit of surgery, but the connector inserts into the plug and then gets latched by a tiny little plastic 'flap' that grabs the connector and holds it in place.  You can take a dental pick or similar tool and gently pry up the flap to release the connector.  Resolder the wire to the connector, being sure to not fill in the connector with solder, then reinsert it into the plastic plug housing.

I finally learned to not pull on the wires to disconnect the plug.  Use a small flat head screw driver to gently pry the connectors apart.  I've seen other people use the tip of an exacto blade to pierce the plastic of the plug and pull it up, but use caution with the sharp pointy bit :)

Thanks Tom,
i got the broken piece out, tried to solder to it but in the process i lost that tiny connector.
i dropped it twice and found it both times but the 3rd time i have no idea where it went.
i listed the part numbers in the post of the only 2 HO plugs that look like they may fit,
but they identify them as large or small.
ordering both at $9.14 each plus tax and shipping, then using only one of them is wasteful.

ps i sent message to customer service this time maybe ill get an answer

If the 0-6-0 is the same as my On30 stuff (I have several models) then they all have a 2 pin connector, and a 4 pin connector.

This is the 2 pin plug (the male side).

Tom-C
thanks for trying to help.
but you are not reading what i am posting
go to On30 0-6-0 steam parts, scroll down on parts to the bottom you will see a 6 wire engine to tender replacement harness S25209-11.
that is not a 2 and 4 connecter.
the HO steam engine parts show 2 different 6 wire tender harness 10547 and 10548 one says large the other says small.
the HO tender plugs are the ones i am trying to get the correct one to plug into the S25209-11 engine harness.
i still have not received any answer from Bachmann.
Willis.

for Terry,
the wiring diagram you posted way back for the 2-6-0 tender plug has the right rail and motor + wires swapped.
