Hi Rex,

We can't provide estimates of the value of the set, but if you can find an item number on the packaging, I can look up when the set was offered in our catalog.

As I understand it you aren't so much interested in the current value as much as what it retailed for when new? HO Seeker has some old Bachmann catalogs on its site that you may find of interest.

If it has not never been run in its life even after 40 years there's a good chance that it will not move at all with the lubrication being congealed and all of the electrical contacts being oxidized.  Just don't be surprised when you put it on the track and nothing happens. The track is probably oxidized badly too.  Wipe it off with goo gone, wipe of the goo gone, and be amazed with all the black crud that comes off the rail.
