Title: 36 Street Warehouse
Post by: lirrman on December 02, 2024, 04:29:52 PM
I'm considering adding LifeLike's 36th Street Warehouse to my layout. But, before buying, I need to know the size of the footprint and can't seem to find it anywhere

I couldn't find measurements anywhere, but if the people doors are somewhere around the standard 6'6" tall, a rough measurment of the base is 12 doors long and 6 doors wide. Which would make the actual footprint about 10-3/4" x 5-3/8". Give or take 1/4". About the best I could come up with using pics of an assembled model.

That's actually a very beautiful model of a brick warehouse that can dated back to the 1870s.  I improved one for a friend by removing excessive window muntins and trimming down the ones that remained.  It's been a long time, but I believe I added a long corrugated iron awning over the loading dock on one side.  I would suggest painting it a dull brick red with forest green wood millwork and doors, the paint scheme that buildings of this era often had.  I wish I had a picture of it to show you but it's long gone.
