I have two Spectrum Magnum hobby transforer's.
I can't get either of them to power the train.
One of them ding when left on.
It sounds like you have a severe short somewhere on your layout. See if you accidentally made a return loop somewhere. Or a train is crossing rails. That ding is a built-in circuit breaker tripping.
