Post by: DaveDadofTrainManiac on September 08, 2024, 12:22:19 AM
Hi there,  My son is making us collect the Thomas trains in OO scale.  we have a bunch of the other brand (Hornby).  He has asked me specifically "Bachman Percy"

is all Bachman Thomas in HO?  Is HO and OO out noticeably?  Please weigh in with opinions please.

this is the one he wants.

HO is the American equivalent of British OO.

To answer your question, HO is noticeably smaller than 00. HO is the standard for the US market, while 00 is for the UK and other places. With that said, the Thomas line is actually in 00 scale. It's only labelled HO because it is sold to a primarily American market, easier to prevent confusion that way. So any Bachmann Thomas products you buy will still be in scale with your other 00 trains. Hope this helps
