Title: On30 boiler door number plates
Post by: Michael Coffman on June 24, 2024, 10:54:48 AM
Hello fellow On30 people! Wanting to detail similar On30 T-boiler Shays with different boiler door numbers. Is there any way to specify a plate number when ordering Bachmann parts? I do not want to dry transfer or wet decal a number if I can avoid it. Thank you.

I made my own number plates as one of the few things Bachmann never got right about their On30 locos were the builder and number plates. The builder plates were black lettering on a bronze background, the opposite of how they should be. I made my own and printed them onto decal paper.
Did the same for number plates, and printed them onto cardstock or photo paper.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have aquired some PSC boiler door # plates. Also I like the idea of creating them as well. For now I have a Shay spare parts bag with a #6 boiler door. That will do for now. Word to the wise. I was told by the Parts Dept that when ordering a Shay Spare parts bag the boiler door plate # is random when the selection for shipping is done. IE no specific request can be made. Thanks again for the feedback.
