Title: Rapido- from couplers to coaches?
Post by: Paul M. on October 04, 2007, 09:09:56 PM
Is the Rapido selling great HO scale passenger cars the same company that designed the lousy N- scale couplers that were standard for many years?

Nope, and Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Scheidt & Bachmann farebox and Bachmann Trains are not related to each other.

No.

The current "Rapido" is a Canadian compnay that has nothing at all to do with any previous "Rapido".

DIDN'T RAPIDO MAKE N-SCALE TRAINS 30 YEARS AGO?
The name RAPIDO was introduced by CN in 1965 to headline the railway's high-speed intercity passenger services. Until the mid-1980s, RAPIDO stood for fast schedules, frequent trains, and superb service. Today, we continue the RAPIDO idea with our state-of-the-art models of modern trains. Like CN's RAPIDO, we aim to provide the highest quality and value. We are not related to Arnold Rapido, the European line of N-scale trains from the 1960s and 1970s.

From the Rapido website (emphasis is mine).

Note the locomotive IN the logo...

I preordered one, now I can't wait to get it! Rapido's coaches are amazing, and now, with my bigger & better layout in progress, I can get them!
