Dear Confused,

Locked caps are considered SHOUTING on forums.

Here are the on-line catalog crossover listings:

http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=1968

http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=1969

http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=172

http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=173

The Bachmann HO crossover track centers are 2-3/8" apart, which is less than the NMRA  recommends for On3' (closest to On30") track center spacing:

Also, scroll down to note 4 at the bottom.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

Rube-

Your trains may be able to negotiate the crossover but you probably
won't be able to run trains past one another on the side-by-side
tracks. The trains will likely sideswipe one another or collide before
they even have an opportunity to sideswipe.
