I really like would like to know if this 2-10-2 Chicago DCC can be converted to DCC Soundtraxx ? A little soldering is not a problem if the design allows it. Please help.
Thanks,
Smoken Smiley.

Should not be a problem. I just looked at the loco diagram and there is place for a 28 mm speaker. Get a decoder with speaker and plug it in to the 8 pin NMRA socket on the PC board. Remove any capacitors on the PC board.
Sound decoders vary from about $50.00 to about $150 depending on brand. The decoders are shrink wrapped.
Check with Litchfield Station for best price and they have good shipping price and support.

Make sure to click on the MR DCC icon for lots of good DCC sound info. Look in Curriculum.
Probably not obvious but since you have a HO scale question, it might help to use the HO scale forum.

I was hoping it would be something this easy and have the 8pin socket, Thanks.
Here is a link to the SoundTraxx site. Store the link in Favorites.

This all assumes your tender has a spot for the speaker. Some DCC ready did not have an opening for the speaker.
There are a couple cheaper brands but cannot mention them here.
