Title: Farish Locos prior to Bachmann's acquisition
Post by: oldfella on February 05, 2012, 08:40:44 AM
Can anyone tell me what would be the most suitable decoder to use in the 4-6-2 and 2-8-0 steamers, and the GWR railcar produced by Graham Farish and Minitrix.
Thanks

I am assuming HO scale and the amps at 12 VDC is no higher than 750 ma, use a Digitrax DZ125, good for 1 amp, a decoder about the size of a dime but a little thicker.
Another company makes a small one about the same size.
If you are good, the decoder might even fit in the loco.
Make sure the two motor contacts have nothing connected to them. Motor isolated.
Simply follow the instructions that come with the decoder.
I am not familiar with the 4-6-2 and 2-8-0 steamers and rail car produced by Graham Farish and Minitrix.

Thanks Rich,
I should have stated that Farish and Minitrix are both N gauge.
