I purchased one of these engines, Item No. 83403 which is equipped with DCC. I want to know if it is possible to add a sound decoder to this item. If so, how and what do I need?

The decoder comes shrink wrapped, not like the picture of the decoder that you see at the site.
I have done some of these. It is a tight fit. I hope you have soldering experience. It is NOT plug & play.

Moot point now. The Favorite Spot has it with Factory sound for $200.00.
I just purchased the Spectrum 4-6-0 with Factroy sound for $160.00.
